$24.00-$25.00 per hour, with the opportunity for a performance-based increase of up to $1.00 per hour following a 90-day review Reports to: Chief of Staff / Executive Assistant About the Role Moonlight & Sage is seeking an experienced Retail Store Manager to lead the daily operations of our witch shop, apothecary, and metaphysical boutique. This is a hands-on leadership role, not a position spent primarily behind a desk. We're looking for someone who can own the sales floor, coach their team, make decisions in real time, and keep the store running smoothly when priorities or staffing change. The right candidate is calm under pressure, direct but fair, and committed to creating a warm, welcoming experience for every customer. moonlightandsageshop.com Core Responsibilities Store Operations & Customer Experience Lead daily store operations, including opening and closing, floor coverage, and store readiness. Work alongside the team on the sales floor, particularly during busy periods. Ensure customers receive thoughtful service and accurate, approachable information about our products. Resolve customer concerns with professionalism, empathy, and sound judgment. Maintain a clean, well-stocked, and visually inviting store. Oversee visual merchandising, product replenishment, and retail-floor preparation. Team Leadership & Coverage Hire, train, coach, schedule, and provide regular feedback to retail staff and lower-level leadership. Set clear expectations and address performance or operational concerns promptly and fairly. Build schedules within company guidelines and adjust coverage as business needs change. Step in to support floor operations when a lead or team member calls out or additional coverage is needed. Inventory & Business Execution Monitor inventory needs and coordinate replenishment with warehouse, purchasing, and other departments. Support product launches, promotions, and store projects through clear communication and follow-through. Drive sales and store goals by coaching the team and maintaining a strong customer experience. Oversee point-of-sale, cash-handling, key-control, and other daily administrative procedures. Follow company policies and protect customer information, internal systems, and proprietary business information. Qualifications 2 years of retail management or supervisory experience required. Strong people leadership, communication, and customer-service skills. A hands-on approach and the ability to lead a team through a fast-moving day. Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through. Ability to handle customer and employee concerns calmly and professionally. Experience with scheduling, point-of-sale systems, inventory, and merchandising preferred. Full availability for scheduled weekday and weekend shifts, including opening and closing shifts, required. Ability to provide three professional references. Employment may be subject to a background check conducted in accordance with applicable law. The 90-day review provides an opportunity to be considered for an increase of up to $1.00 per hour; an increase is not guaranteed.
