Job Description

The Thrift Store Manager offers an exciting opportunity to a people-oriented, results-driven individual who is passionate about our Mission and Serving. We seek a highly energetic, experienced, competent leader who can multi-task and flourish in a hectic retail environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Thrift Store Operations:
  • Under oversight from the Life Network Store Director, the Store Manager is responsible for meeting goals for:
  • Marketing to drive store traffic and sales (collaborate with the Marketing Director and Store Director)
  • Monthly revenue to meet and exceed monthly Store budget
  • Pipeline for store items and materials
  • ordering supplies within Budget
  • Volunteer recruitment, training, engagement, and retention, honoring volunteers on their birthdays, and hosting events as planned with the Director
  • Create a clean, attractive, organized shopping environment, keeping racks full and shoppable
  • Monitor thrift store donations and system for purging older items to ensure a constant flow of new inventory
  • Store Transport:
    Make and implement recommendations for transport operations, including transferring items between stores
  • Monitor safety issues in the store and correct issues promptly, partnering with the Director as needed
  • Other duties as required
Marketing:
  • Collaborate with the Director and internal marketing team on an integrated marketing approach, including internet and digital media, to advertise the store and promote the store brand
  • Work with the Director to Maintain to create ways to maximize donations to increase store profit and refine strategy for growing awareness in the city
  • Analyze sales and current inventory to provide projections and recommendations to retain customers and increase sales
  • Oversee the merchandise display within the store and overall appearance inside and outside.
  • Improving merchandising at special store events
Finances:
  • Support the Director in creating measurable goals and metrics for ensuring the store remains healthy financially
  • Meet revenue goals, monitor your location's Profit and Loss Report, and partner with the Director to adjust store expenses as necessary
  • Record daily sales and monthly totals and report results weekly to the Director and daily to staff
  • Submit a list of needed assets and estimated amounts to the
Director Personnel:
  • Maintain current knowledge of organization policies and procedures related to personnel
  • Daily leadership and motivation, led by example to maintain an energetic atmosphere for staff and volunteers, including:
  • Scheduling of store employees to ensure sufficient staff to cover all departments
  • Partner with the Director to manage the daily schedule of volunteers and groups volunteer coverage to ensure adequate coverage in-store to accomplish tasks and respond to customers
  • Provide supervision to the staff, including regular communication, guidance, and direction, monitoring work production, addressing concerns, and sharing ideas
