We are looking for a hands-on Multi-Unit Retail Manager to oversee our retail stores, manage staffing and scheduling, and develop strong shift leads who can independently run day-to-day store operations. Our retail operations are intentionally straightforward. Products are produced centrally and delivered to each location each morning. Store teams receive and stock deliveries, pack retail and wholesale pre-orders, maintain refrigerated and counter displays, manage basic inventory, and provide excellent customer service throughout the day. This position is responsible for making sure those systems run consistently across all locations. We are looking for someone who enjoys being in the stores, working with employees, solving problems, and building teams—not someone who wants to manage exclusively from an office. Responsibilities Own employee scheduling across all retail locations and maintain appropriate staffing levels Manage call-outs and coverage and develop a reliable staffing structure that minimizes last-minute problems Recruit, hire, onboard, and train retail employees Develop and support shift leads who can independently manage individual stores and shifts Regularly visit all locations and maintain consistent operational standards Monitor attendance, punctuality, employee performance, and labor efficiency Coach employees and address performance issues when necessary Maintain high standards for customer service, cleanliness, product presentation, and organization Ensure opening, closing, cash-handling, stocking, cleaning, and inventory procedures are consistently followed Coordinate with our commissary and production teams regarding daily deliveries, shortages, pre-orders, and operational needs Oversee retail supplies and dry-goods inventory Identify operational problems and implement practical, repeatable solutions Help recruit, train, and organize teams as new locations open Step into store operations when necessary while developing teams capable of operating independently Qualifications Management experience in retail, bakery, café, restaurant, hospitality, or another customer-facing business Multi-unit management experience is preferred but not required; we will consider a strong single-location manager ready to take the next step Strong organizational and scheduling skills Comfortable managing, coaching, and holding employees accountable Able to handle staffing issues and solve problems quickly and practically Strong communication skills Reliable and comfortable traveling regularly between our Fairfield County locations Willing and able to work a flexible schedule when operational needs require it Compensation $60,000 annual base salary plus a performance bonus of up to $10,000 annually, for target total compensation of $70,000.
