As a Garden Center Lead Retail Associate, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations, leading the cashier team, and delivering outstanding service to every customer. Responsibilities Oversee and support all cashier operations, ensuring efficient and friendly customer checkouts Lead, train, and assist team members in daily routines and tasks according to established checklists Assist management with assigned tasks and special projects as needed Handle customer returns and resolve disputes professionally Support inventory management and help maintain accurate stock levels Encourage ongoing learning and development among team members Perform all duties of a Cashier, including operating registers and related equipment Uphold company policies and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for customers and staff Perform other related duties as assigned by management Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous customer service and supervisory experience Successful completion of on-the-job training Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with computers, including MS Word, Google Docs, and workplace software systems Excellent customer service and upselling abilities Ability to operate cash registers, calculators, and scanners Basic math skills for handling transactions and refunds Knowledge of company products, services, and customer policies Personable, outgoing, and able to work both independently and as part of a team Ability to multi-task, stay detail-oriented, and maintain regular attendance Must be 18 years of age or older Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 50 pounds Willingness to work weekends and holidays Compensation $18 - $25 per hour , based on experience and qualifications.
