Responsibilities Manage daily shop operations, including scheduling, workflow coordination, and resource allocation to maximize productivity and quality. Supervise and assist technicians specializing in auto body repairs, collision damage assessment, and refinishing techniques. Ensure all repairs meet safety regulations, industry standards, and customer expectations through rigorous quality control checks. Oversee the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment. Utilize computer-aided vehicle damage estimating software to accurately assess repair needs and communicate estimates to clients. Coordinate with clients to explain repair processes, timelines, and address any questions or concerns effectively. Maintain compliance with environmental regulations related to paints, auto glass installation, metal fabrication, aluminum repairs, and auto painting processes. Oversee inventory management for hand tools, power tools, paints, auto body parts including auto glass, and other shop supplies. Lead efforts in defect resolution root cause analysis to identify underlying issues in repair processes or materials for continuous improvement. Promote a culture of safety by conducting regular training on collision repair shop procedures and safety regulations. Experience Proven CCC1 experience, managing an auto body or collision repair shop with demonstrated leadership skills. Extensive knowledge of automotive body refinishing techniques including paint application, detailing, auto restoration, and auto painting. Hands-on experience with mechanical repairs and familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures. Strong understanding of collision repair processes involving aluminum work and metal fabrication techniques. Proficiency with technical tools such as power tools, hand tools, and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating software. Background in dealership or collision repair shop environments is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safety regulations; familiarity with personal protective equipment (PPE) use is essential. Excellent client communication skills to explain repair options clearly and build customer trust. Basic math skills for accurate measurement calculations and estimating costs related to repairs. Mechanic experience or automotive repair background is advantageous for comprehensive understanding of vehicle systems.
