Job Description

Retail Store Team Leader (Store Manager) About the role Goodwill Industries of Central Florida is hiring a Team Leader to run one of its retail stores. Reporting to the Regional Director of Retail and Donated Goods, you will be accountable for the store's sales and expense budget and for leading the team that runs it day to day. Store revenue supports Goodwill's job training and employment services in the community. What you'll do Manage the store's revenue and expense budget, including payroll, and keep results within company guidelines. Oversee incoming inventory, stock and color rotations, scheduled markdowns, and stock transfers according to Goodwill procedures, and promote merchandise through in-store displays. Schedule and lead store staff, arrange coverage for absences, evaluate performance, take disciplinary action when needed, and recommend terminations. Train and mentor store staff, including the supervisors who report to you, and set the standard for safety and security in the store. Keep the store and grounds clean and safe, run monthly safety drills or assign them to a Safety Captain, complete the monthly maintenance inspection checklist, and ensure staff follow Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) requirements and Public Protection procedures. Handle store receipts and cash according to Goodwill procedures, including bank deposits, and support Loss Prevention investigations while keeping sensitive information confidential. Open and close the store as needed, respond calmly to emergencies and alarm calls, and follow procedures for disturbances such as disorderly customers or lost children. Resolve customer and employee concerns professionally and coordinate with other Goodwill departments. Complete store reports on schedules, meetings, safety, payroll, and store records, and assist other stores when the Regional Director asks. What you'll bring High school diploma or equivalent Three years of retail experience and two years of management experience Ability to supervise, train, and mentor store staff, including other supervisors Experience conducting phone and face-to-face interviews Working knowledge of a point-of-sale (POS) system and intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and an internet browser Math skills to calculate discounts, commissions, percentages, and similar figures Skill in maintaining inventory, sales, and store records, and the ability to write reports and business correspondence and answer questions from managers, customers, and the public Knowledge of CPSC requirements and Public Protection procedures Ability to work independently with minimal direction and to stay calm in an emergency Commitment to Goodwill's Core Principles Valid Florida driver's license, a clean driving record, and a current private auto insurance policy Experience working with people who have disabilities, or previous Goodwill experience, is preferred. Physical requirements and schedule Regularly lift or move up to 40 pounds, and up to 100 pounds occasionally with assistance Stand and walk for long periods in a work environment with moderate noise Schedule includes opening and closing the store and being reachable by phone to respond to alarm calls Job offers are contingent on a background check and drug screening.
