Suburban Propane is seeking a Service Manager to lead field operations in our Utilities & Energy business. In this hands-on role, you will supervise technicians delivering propane and related HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair services to residential, commercial, and industrial customers. You will oversee scheduling, safety compliance, and service quality while resolving escalated customer issues and supporting a strong, safety-first culture. The Service Manager partners closely with delivery, dispatch, and sales teams to ensure reliable, efficient service and long-term customer relationships. Responsibilities Lead and schedule service technicians for residential, commercial, and industrial propane customers Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of propane and related HVAC systems Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements Respond to and resolve customer service issues and service escalations Monitor service quality, productivity, and KPIs to meet performance goals Coordinate with dispatch, delivery, and sales teams to support field operations Train, coach, and evaluate service staff to maintain high technical standards Manage service inventories, tools, and equipment for reliability and safety Support budgeting, cost control, and resource planning for the service department Promote a strong safety culture and participate in incident response as needed Required Skills Field service management Propane systems service HVAC installation and repair Safety and regulatory compliance Team leadership and supervision Scheduling and dispatch coordination Customer service and issue resolution Budgeting and cost control Incident response and safety programs Technical training and coaching
