This is a working manager position combining barista shifts with management responsibilities. We're looking for someone who can confidently lead a team, maintain exceptional coffee quality, manage inventory and labor, and build strong systems that keep the coffee bar running smoothly and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Lead day-to-day coffee bar operations while working alongside the barista team Hire, train, schedule, and support baristas Maintain consistent standards for drink quality, hospitality, cleanliness, and food safety Manage inventory, par levels, waste, vendor ordering, and regular inventory audits Monitor staffing and labor based on business needs Track daily sales, COGS, product usage, and key operating metrics Maintain recipes, training materials, opening/closing procedures, and SOPs Calibrate, clean, and perform basic troubleshooting on espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment Resolve day-to-day staff, customer, and operational issues Ensure compliance with applicable health, hygiene, food-safety, and allergen requirements Always work on improving customer experience and ways to improve the overall space. Requirements 2-4 years of food service or specialty coffee experience 1-2+ years in a supervisor, lead barista, assistant manager, or management role Current Food Manager Certification Current Food Handler Certification Weekend availability Qualifications Strong knowledge of espresso extraction, milk texturing, pour-overs, recipe adjustments, and drink consistency Experience hiring, training, scheduling, and leading a team Experience with inventory control, waste management, ordering, and vendor relationships Working knowledge of labor costs, COGS, daily sales, and basic café profitability Comfortable using POS systems, scheduling apps, and inventory-management software Knowledge of commercial espresso machines, grinders, and brewers, including basic calibration and troubleshooting Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, hygiene, and allergen protocols Strong communication, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills We're looking for someone who takes ownership, sees what needs to be done, and follows through —someone equally comfortable leading a busy shift, coaching an employee, dialing in espresso, placing an inventory order, or improving a system that isn't working.
