Seasonal position November 8th through January 3rd Position Summary The Assistant Manager supports the General Manager in the day-to-day operation of The Light Park, helping deliver a safe, efficient, welcoming, and memorable experience for every guest. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for overseeing daily operations, leading and developing a team of three direct reports, supporting guest service, maintaining operational standards, and helping ensure the park runs smoothly during each operating period. The Assistant Manager serves as an important extension of the General Manager and is expected to lead by example, make sound decisions, address issues promptly, and help create a positive and energetic environment for both guests and employees. Key Responsibilities Operations & Daily Management Support the General Manager with the daily operation of The Light Park. Serve as manager on duty when assigned. Oversee opening, operating, and closing procedures. Ensure the park is clean, organized, safe, and operating according to established standards. Monitor guest flow, staffing, and operational efficiency. Assist with scheduling, staffing, and employee deployment. Address operational issues quickly and communicate significant concerns to the General Manager. Support peak-season and high-volume operating periods. Assist with daily reports and other operational responsibilities as assigned. Team Leadership Directly supervise and develop three team members. Set clear expectations and hold employees accountable for performance. Train, coach, and motivate team members. Monitor attendance, punctuality, appearance, and adherence to company policies. Provide feedback and recognize strong performance. Assist the General Manager with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management. Foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented workplace. Guest Experience Provide a friendly, professional, and memorable guest experience. Regularly interact with guests throughout the park. Respond to guest questions, concerns, and complaints. Resolve guest issues professionally and escalate significant concerns when appropriate. Ensure team members consistently meet guest-service expectations. Identify opportunities to improve the guest experience. Safety Make guest and employee safety a top priority. Ensure team members follow all safety procedures and operating standards. Identify and address potential safety hazards. Assist with incident response and documentation. Communicate safety concerns immediately to the General Manager. Ensure employees receive and follow required safety training. Financial & Administrative Responsibilities Assist with managing labor and operating expenses. Monitor staffing levels to support efficient labor utilization. Follow all cash-handling and administrative procedures. Assist with inventory and operational documentation as assigned. Help identify opportunities to improve efficiency and control costs. Communication & Leadership Maintain regular communication with the General Manager regarding staffing, operations, guest concerns, incidents, and other important issues. Communicate company expectations and operational updates to the team. Work collaboratively with other departments, vendors, and operational partners. Take ownership of problems and work toward practical solutions. Maintain a professional and positive attitude, particularly during busy or challenging periods. Qualifications Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Experience in hospitality, entertainment, attractions, events, retail, or customer service is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead, coach, and motivate employees. Strong customer-service mindset. Ability to make decisions and solve problems in a fast-paced environment. Highly dependable and organized. Comfortable working evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak operating periods. Ability to work outdoors and remain active throughout the shift. Must be able to maintain a professional and positive attitude in a high-energy environment. Compensation $17.00 per hour This is an hourly leadership position. The Assistant Manager should expect a schedule that will include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on The Light Park's operating schedule and business needs.
