About Knox Knox is a full-service heavy truck and equipment repair, service, and refinishing shop in Temple, GA. We work on a wide range of large commercial trucks and equipment, including refuse trucks, concrete mixers, and other specialized equipment. Our capabilities include mechanical and equipment repairs, body work, fabrication, sandblasting, painting, and complete refinishing. The Position We are looking for a Shop Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day operation of our shop and lead a team of approximately 10-20 employees. This is a hands-on leadership position reporting directly to ownership. The ideal candidate has previous experience in a heavy truck, heavy equipment, fleet, automotive, industrial, or similar shop environment. Strong experience is preferred, but we are willing to consider candidates with the right leadership ability, mechanical aptitude, work ethic, and organizational skills. The Shop Manager will be responsible for keeping jobs moving efficiently while maintaining a high standard of quality and customer service. Key Responsibilities Manage daily shop operations and workflow Manage shop safety program and compliance Schedule and coordinate technicians, painters, and other shop personnel Prioritize jobs and ensure work is completed on schedule Maintain high standards of quality control across all repairs, service, body work, and painting Inspect completed work before equipment is returned to the customer Communicate with customers regarding job status, timelines, and additional repairs Coordinate parts, materials, and outside services Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop Work with ownership to improve efficiency, profitability, and overall shop performance What We're Looking For Previous shop, fleet, heavy equipment, automotive, industrial, or similar experience strongly preferred Previous supervisory or management experience Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand repair needs Excellent organizational and communication skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to manage multiple jobs and employees simultaneously Ability to lead a team, solve problems, and hold people accountable Comfortable working in a hands-on shop environment Experience with refuse trucks, concrete mixers, vocational trucks, hydraulics, fabrication, sandblasting, or industrial painting is a strong plus.
