Front End Reports to: Store Director/ Assistant Store DirectorPOSITION SUMMARY
Responsible and accountable for overseeing all aspects of the Front-End Operation of the Store assigned to. This includes promoting proper and efficient service of our customers and supervising all Front-End associates.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(responsibilities include, but are not limited to):- Promotes and maintains proper and efficient service of customers.
- Responsible for supervising and recommending disciplinary action for associates in department.
- Responsible for work schedules, assigning work, training, enforcing Company policies and SOP's, productivity and communication with associates.
- Responsible for the processing of invoices, department reports, employee appraisals, inventory and supply ordering.
- Supervise the Front-End management team and delegates responsibilities as necessary.
- Ensure that the store's activities comply with the rules/regulations of the various governmental and regulatory agencies.
- Address and review all controllable expenses in the Front-End.
- Provides extensive customer service, answers questions, responds to complaints, processes money orders (Western Union) and cleaner rentals, sells stamps and bus passes, gives out rain checks if necessary
- Responsible for handling large sums of money safely
- Performs outs and drops from cashier tills and able to clear register locks, such as voids
- Register accuracy, knows/ carries out proper register procedures, price integrity
- Take appropriate loss prevention measures
- Oversees and implements price changes
- Performs other related duties as needed as assigned by manager
OTHER DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Use of proper safety procedures
- Conduct floor checks and ensures adequately stocked shelves; products are merchandised properly and rotated.
- Able to multitask, listen to directions and follow through independently
- Able to deal with difficult customers, have good communication and observation skills
- Able to work with a team and independently when needed
EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION
- High school / Secondary school diploma or GED
- Must be at least 21 years of age in accordance with company policy
- Possesses a food handling license
- Possesses First Aid / CPR / AED Certification
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Previous experience working with the public
- Basic mathematical knowledge and cash handling experience preferred
- Working knowledge of produce codes required, while able to differentiate between different produce products
- Basic knowledge of working with computers such as spreadsheets, email, word documents.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Air condition while in store, subject to outside conditions of heat, rain, and wind, chill temperatures when products need to be retrieved from chill
- Very fast paced
