Job Description

Continental Express, Inc. is a privately-owned, truckload carrier and full-service logistics company that specializes in the transport of temperature-controlled and dedicated-route freight. We are currently seeking an individual with prior diesel mechanic experience to be a Shop Manager at our terminal in Oswego, IL. Ideal candidate will possess 5 or more years of diesel mechanic experience and prior supervisor experience. This person will oversee the day-to-day operations of the shop primarily ensuring that equipment is repaired and maintained.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

Responsible for ensuring maintenance and repairs are performed on all company equipment within prescribed time lines. Ensures that an accurate, professional service record for each asset is properly maintained. Responsible for ensuring that the facility and equipment is cleaned regularly and presentable. Communicate regularly with Corporate Maintenance Manager in Ohio regarding status of equipment and repairs. Work in conjunction with Terminal Manager/Operations staff to maintain company assets and meet operational needs. Assist in on-boarding new shop staff. Maintain a line of communication with headquarters to update activities, challenges and needs.

REQUIREMENTS

5 or more years of diesel mechanic experience Knowledge of Thermo King or Carrier refrigeration systems is a plus Class A CDL preferred Ability to effectively motivate and manage others. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be available to work irregular hours as needed during peak times to meet customer needs, repairs, fill in for employees, and other duties as deemed necessary by headquarters.
