Responsibilities Lead and supervise retail staff, including hiring, training, coaching, and evaluating performance to foster a motivated and high-performing team Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, POS system management, and ensuring compliance with company policies Manage inventory levels through effective stock control, ordering, purchasing, and merchandising to maximize sales opportunities Implement sales strategies to meet or exceed targets while maintaining excellent customer service standards Coordinate scheduling and shift management to ensure optimal coverage during peak hours and special events Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate goals, provide feedback, and promote ongoing training & development initiatives Monitor store financials such as budgeting, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and sales reporting to maintain operational efficiency Skills Proven management experience within the retail industry with a focus on sales team leadership and operational oversight Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication skills for managerial communication, employee orientation, and customer interactions Proficiency with POS systems, inventory management software, and basic math for cash handling and pricing calculations Demonstrated ability in recruiting, interviewing, training & development of staff, as well as supervising team members' performance Knowledge of retail math including sales management, budgeting, merchandising, and inventory control techniques Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases effectively Experience in pet retail environments is advantageous but not required; familiarity with retail store product knowledge is essential Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams and foster a positive store culture Skills in negotiation for vendor relations and purchasing decisions; experience with payroll processing is preferred Join us as a Retail Store Manager where your leadership will shape the customer experience while driving store success!
