Position Summary We're seeking an experienced Shop Manager with hands‑on heavy‑duty diesel knowledge to lead our maintenance team, ensure fleet readiness, and manage shop operations. Key Responsibilities Supervise, schedule, and mentor technicians; hire and develop staff Coordinate preventive maintenance, repairs, and DOT inspections for Class 6-8 trucks and trailers Troubleshoot complex diesel, electrical, drivetrain, brake, air, and suspension issues as needed Maintain parts inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships; control shop budget and labor hours Ensure shop safety, compliance with DOT and company policies, and accurate maintenance records/work orders Implement maintenance programs, productivity metrics, and cost‑control measures Respond to major breakdowns/roadside escalations and support after‑hours emergencies when required Required Qualifications 5+ years heavy‑duty diesel experience, including supervisory or lead role (experience is a must) Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills with Class 6-8 equipment; ASE or manufacturer certifications preferred Proven leadership, scheduling, and inventory/parts management experience Familiarity with DOT regulations, shop management software, and basic welding/fabrication a plus Valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience + performance incentives Health insurance, paid time off, retirement plan options Training and certification support, tool/equipment allowances Stable regional routes and company support for shop operations
