$55,000 - $70,000+ based on store performance St. Francis Animal Sanctuary & Rescue is seeking an experienced, motivated Retail Store Manager to take full ownership of the day to day operation and growth of our Mandeville thrift store. This is not simply a supervisory position. We are looking for someone who knows how to run a retail operation, lead a team, drive sales, improve merchandising, manage inventory flow, and solve problems without needing constant direction. The thrift store is a major source of funding for our animal rescue work, so increasing store performance directly increases the number of animals we are able to help. Compensation This position includes a guaranteed annual salary of $48,000 , plus an uncapped monthly sales performance bonus . The bonus begins at 1% of total monthly sales once the store reaches $25,000 in sales , and increases by 0.25% for every additional $2,500 in monthly sales .

$35,000 average monthly sales = approximately $56,400 annual compensation $40,000 average monthly sales = approximately $60,000 annual compensation $45,000 average monthly sales = approximately $64,200 annual compensation $50,000 average monthly sales = approximately $69,000 annual compensation There is no cap on the monthly sales bonus. We want a manager who is motivated to grow the store, and we believe that person should directly benefit when they do. Schedule and Availability This is a management position that requires flexible availability. While much of the work will take place during normal store hours, the manager must be willing and able to work occasional evenings, after hours shifts, weekends, or extended hours when operational needs require it. After hours work may include merchandising resets, inventory movement, maintenance coordination, special projects, store preparation, events, or other tasks that are difficult to complete while the store is open. Applicants should understand that this is not a strictly Monday through Friday daytime position. The manager is responsible for ensuring the store's operational needs are met, even when that occasionally requires work outside regular business hours. Responsibilities The Retail Store Manager will be responsible for: Managing all day to day store operations Leading, scheduling, training, and supervising store employees Holding staff accountable for productivity, attendance, and job performance Increasing sales and identifying opportunities for revenue growth Maintaining an attractive, clean, organized, and frequently refreshed sales floor Creating strong merchandise displays and improving overall store presentation Managing pricing, markdowns, promotions, and inventory rotation Overseeing donation intake, sorting, processing, and storage Ensuring donated merchandise moves efficiently from intake to the sales floor Preventing unnecessary inventory buildup and improving storage efficiency Monitoring payroll and staffing levels Reviewing sales reports and store performance Using Square POS and basic sales data to make informed decisions Helping develop promotions, social media content, and store events Ensuring basic maintenance, lighting, cameras, equipment, signage, and facility needs are addressed promptly Handling customer concerns and maintaining a welcoming shopping environment Communicating regularly with the Executive Director regarding sales, staffing, inventory, and operational needs Stepping in and working alongside staff whenever necessary Completing occasional evening or after-hours projects when required to support store operations Who We Are Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who: Has previous retail management experience Has successfully supervised employees and managed performance issues Understands merchandising and how presentation impacts sales Is comfortable working toward sales and revenue goals Takes initiative and solves problems independently Is highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities Is comfortable making staffing and operational decisions Understands inventory management and merchandise turnover Is dependable and follows through on commitments Can identify inefficient systems and improve them Is comfortable using email, computers, point-of-sale systems, and social media Has the flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and after-hours when needed Is willing to be hands-on rather than managing exclusively from an office Experience in thrift, resale, consignment, nonprofit retail, furniture, apparel, or other inventory heavy retail environments is strongly preferred.
