Job Description

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Floating Assistant Store Manager to support our gas station and convenience store locations. This is a full-time, multi-location position designed for someone who is comfortable working in different stores, supporting Store Managers, covering staffing needs, and helping maintain consistent operating standards across locations. Work location and schedule will vary based on staffing and operational needs. The position reports to the District Manager and is regularly scheduled for 40 hours per week, with the opportunity and expectation to work additional hours when needed for store coverage, employee call-outs, vacations, manager vacancies, new-store openings, or other operational needs. Responsibilities Provide coverage at different store locations based on business and staffing needs Cover Store Manager and Assistant Manager scheduled days off, vacations, and absences Provide cashier/shift coverage when necessary Open and close store locations Supervise store operations and employees during assigned shifts Perform register and customer-service duties as needed Complete daily cash, deposit, lottery, inventory, and store paperwork procedures Assist with inventory counts, deliveries, merchandising, pricing, and store organization Train and support new cashiers and store employees Assist with training newly hired Store Managers and Assistant Managers Help maintain company procedures, cash controls, cleanliness, safety, and customer-service standards Assist the District Manager with store projects and operational needs Support new-store openings, employee training, and store setup Temporarily provide additional management coverage during Store Manager vacancies Communicate store issues, staffing concerns, shortages, maintenance needs, and operational problems to the District Manager Perform other store operational duties as assigned Schedule & Location 40 regularly scheduled hours per week Additional hours may be available or required based on store coverage and operational needs Variable schedule based on business needs Must have flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled Work location will vary among company-operated locations which are located within approximately 15-20 miles of Reading, MA. Employees will generally be assigned to one store location per shift Scheduled store assignments may change to accommodate call-outs, absences, vacancies, or other unexpected staffing needs This is a multi-location position and does not have one permanent assigned store Qualifications Previous convenience store, gas station, retail, or similar management experience preferred Previous Assistant Store Manager, Shift Manager, Keyholder, or Store Manager experience strongly preferred Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods; work indoors, outdoors, and in refrigerated cooler/freezer environments; and lift, carry, push, or move up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to independently open, close, and oversee a retail location Experience with cash handling, deposits, inventory, and retail paperwork Strong reliability and attendance Ability to supervise, support, and train employees Strong organizational and communication skills Comfortable adapting to different store locations, employees, and schedules Ability to work independently and appropriately handle day-to-day store issues Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required Must be able to travel to all assigned company locations
Pay:
From $17.50 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
