The HIV/STI Surveillance Supervisor will oversee the process of surveillance for reportable sexually transmitted infections (chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis) and HIV. This includes receiving reports of STIs and HIV from laboratories and clinicians, ensuring all laboratory reports are appropriately reported to Maryland Department of Health, ensuring all laboratory reports are correctly entered and processed in the state surveillance system, and triaging new cases for Disease Intervention Specialists (also known as partner services). The Reactor Desk Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring appropriate management of Baltimore City's instance of the state-wide STI surveillance system. They will supervise several program coordinators, data entry staff, a perinatal coordinator, and a quality assurance manager. The Reactor Desk Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all aspects of surveillance are operating smoothly and efficiently, including conducting quality assurance of program activities. They will work very closely with Maryland Department of Health, Epidemiology staff, and Partner Services supervisors. Essential Functions Coordination, management, and review of all aspects of STI and HIV case finding and reporting Ensuring appropriate and efficient case triage to partner services Coordination with Maryland Department of Health on management of STI/HIV surveillance Development of reports on status of cases, epidemiology, and quality assurance Assistance with partner services investigations as needed Oversight of investigations of perinatal HIV and congenital syphilis, and direct programmatic activities for prevention of perinatal transmission Other duties as assigned

Job Summary The HIV/STI Surveillance Supervisor will hold a leadership role in the Baltimore City Health Department (BCHD) Bureau of Clinical Services and HIV/STI Prevention. The Clinical Services and HIV/STI Prevention Bureau at BCHD works towards decreasing HIV and sexually transmitted infection (STI) incidence in Baltimore City. Programs included in the Bureau include HIV/STI testing, partner services, linkage to care, epidemiology and surveillance, community engagement, PrEP, and clinical services.
