Job Description
Primary responsibility is to Take Excellent Care Of Our Customers by satisfying each customer's needs, exceeding their expectations, and making every shopping visit a pleasant and satisfying experience. Assist to manage and supervise up to 25 associates in the Grocery Department. May also be assigned responsibility for the HBC/GM Department. Is responsible for assisting with the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these departments. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Harris Teeter's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; assist in appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS.

Exceptional interpersonal skills. Willingness to participate in and successfully complete required training and to work with the team to increase customer satisfaction and sales. EDUCATION and/orEXPERIENCE.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.COMPUTER SKILLS.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of HT Internet software; E-mail; Inventory software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.LANGUAGE SKILLS.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos [in English]. Ability to write simple correspondence [in English]. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization who only speak English.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS.
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement.REASONING ABILITY.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS.

Harris Teeter reasonably expects to pay between $19.00/hour and $28.50/hour for this role as a newly hired associate. Pay may depend on previous experience and skill sets of the applicant.Benefits
