Duties Manage daily operations of the meat department, including stocking, merchandising, and pricing to maximize sales and profitability Lead, train, and motivate team members to deliver exceptional customer service and maintain high standards of product knowledge and presentation Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, stock rotation, and inventory control to reduce waste and ensure product freshness Implement operational procedures related to food safety, sanitation, and compliance with health regulations Conduct employee orientation, onboarding, performance evaluations, and ongoing training to develop a skilled retail sales team Handle purchasing decisions and negotiate with suppliers to secure quality products at competitive prices Utilize POS (Point of Sale) systems for transactions, cash handling, and sales reporting to ensure accuracy and efficiency Experience Proven management experience within the retail industry, specifically in grocery or meat departments Demonstrated supervisory skills with experience in team management and leadership roles such as assistant manager or store manager Strong knowledge of inventory control systems, merchandising techniques, and retail math principles Excellent communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual capabilities are highly desirable for serving diverse customer bases Experience with POS systems, cash handling procedures, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and budgeting is preferred Familiarity with retail industry sales strategies including pricing tactics, sales management, and promotional activities Previous experience in grocery store environments or meat product knowledge is highly advantageous Ability to effectively interview candidates during recruiting processes and conduct employee orientation sessions Join us as a Meat Manager where your leadership will inspire your team to excel!
