This is a part-time position requiring 15 to 20 hours per week. The schedule will be within the hours of Monday through Thursday, 10:00 - 4:00 and Saturday 10:00 - 2:00. Working a couple Saturdays per month is required.REPORTS TO

The Neighborhood House Clothes Closet is a thrift store providing free clothing to Neighborhood House clients and low priced clothing to the public. We are looking for a compassionate and organized Assistant Manager who will help manage the day-to-day operations of the Clothes Closet under the direction of the Manager. This requires supervising a team of volunteers, caring for clients and customers, overseeing sales and cash handling procedures, processing donations and merchandising. The ideal candidate for this position has some experience in retail management.COMPENSATION
$17 per hourJOB DUTIES
Checking clients on Apricot. Assist clients with shopping needs and explain Clothes Closet procedures to new clients and any changes to existing clients. Record client shopping visits in Apricot and report any issues or discrepancies to CSM and CSD. Assists customers as needed and explains NH/CC to those unfamiliar. Accept and acknowledge donors and donations. Ensure proper training for volunteers and bookkeeping. Train volunteers on sorting, accepting and putting out donations, and any other functions that may be needed. Familiarize volunteers with SignUp procedures and who should be notified of absences. Maintain a professional/clean retail environment. Assist with completing change over twice a year in a timely manner. Ensure that the merchandise on the floor is properly sized, colorized, and displayed. Assist with curating the specialty priced items and keep up with current trends. Handle all financial day-to-day functions, processing and reporting sales, bank deposits, and recording current procedures. Complete month end report and yearly comparison report to send to director and CSM. Ensure supplies are ordered with current guidelines. Attend any staff meetings outside of CC store hours. Any additional responsibilities assigned by the Clothes Closet manager.JOB SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
3+ years of experience in retail and merchandising Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to lead volunteers and staff members. Ability to manage difficult interpersonal situations with the public. Experience with Microsoft Office applications. Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. Must have a passion for our mission. Prior experience in nonprofit operations is a plus. Willingness to learn specific computer applications: Apricot - Client Services Tracking system.ABOUT US
