This role requires availability year-round, throughout the week, especially in November and December. Weekend shifts are required. Bakery is open 7 days each week and early morning starts (6 - 7am) are part of the rhythm. This role is centered in our Rochester location but occasional shifts in our Royal Oak store could be requested. Responsibilities Work collaboratively with Store Manager to supervise daily bakery counter operations, including inventory control, stocking, and merchandising to ensure product freshness and presentation standards are met. Lead, motivate, and develop team members through effective training, coaching, and performance management to foster a high-energy sales environment. Manage customer interactions with professionalism, addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring an outstanding shopping experience. Oversee cash handling procedures, POS transactions, pricing accuracy, and cashiering duties to maintain financial integrity. Monitor stock levels, and implement inventory management strategies to minimize waste and optimize product availability. Implement operational policies related to safety, cleanliness, and store standards while ensuring compliance with company protocols. Support shift management by planning schedules, delegating tasks efficiently, and maintaining smooth store flow during busy periods. Experience Proven assistant manager or supervisory experience preferably in a bakery or food service environment. Strong knowledge of bakery products along with retail sales techniques and customer service excellence. Demonstrated skills in inventory management, merchandising, POS systems operation, and cash handling procedures. Experience in recruiting, training new staff members, and developing team talent through ongoing coaching initiatives. Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
