We are seeking a hands-on Shop Operations Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day flow of a premier heavy truck and equipment modification shop. This is not a sit-behind-a-desk management role. We need a practical, decisive leader who thrives on the shop floor-someone who can lead technicians, resolve technical roadblocks, maintain high-quality standards, and keep custom builds moving seamlessly from intake to final delivery.

What You'll Do:
Build and manage the daily shop schedule, assigning technicians and establishing work priorities.
Drive job progress to ensure on-time delivery without compromising on quality or safety.
Support shop technicians when roadblocks occur, helping troubleshoot and keep work moving.
Coordinate closely with internal teams: Parts, Engineering, Fabrication, and Admin.
Monitor labor hours, job documentation, and project budgets.
Hold high quality-control standards prior to final customer delivery; manage warranty and rework when needed.
Serve as a primary point of contact for customer updates, special service requests, and problem resolution.
Drive process improvements to eliminate operational bottlenecks and optimize shop flow
What We're Looking For:
Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a shop, mechanical, or manufacturing environment.
Practical understanding of heavy equipment, custom fabrication, mechanical systems, or commercial vehicles.
Strong communication skills?able to connect effectively with technicians, engineers, and customers alike.
Excellent organizational and priority-management skills with high accountability.
Decisive problem-solver who stays calm under changing day-to-day priorities.
Bonus Points:
Direct experience with heavy trucks, dump bodies, logging equipment, or hydraulic systems/PTOs.
Background in welding/metal fabrication supervision.
