Position Summary The Shop Manager keeps our crews supplied, our equipment ready, and our fleet safe and compliant. This role oversees daily shop operations, fills and delivers field orders, and manages DOT compliance for company vehicles and drivers. Responsibilities Oversee daily shop operations, including organization, cleanliness, and safety Receive, fill, and coordinate field orders for materials, tools, and equipment so crews have what they need on schedule Load, transport, and deliver materials and equipment to job sites using company trucks and trailers Manage DOT compliance and recertifications for company vehicles and drivers, and maintain accurate records Schedule and track preventive maintenance and repairs for trucks, trailers, lifts, scaffolding, and other equipment Maintain inventory of materials, tools, and supplies, and reorder as needed Coordinate with vendors and suppliers on pricing, orders, and service Inspect equipment returning from the field and arrange repairs or replacements Communicate with project managers and foremen on job needs and equipment availability Qualifications Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record (required) Working knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements [3-5] years of experience in shop, fleet, or equipment management, preferably in construction or a related trade Mechanical aptitude and experience maintaining trucks and construction equipment Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple field requests Comfortable with basic computer use for tracking orders, inventory, and records Able to lift [50] lbs and work in a shop and outdoor environment Some travel to our Minneapolis and Madison, WI branches may be required
