Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team! As an Assistant Store Manager, you will play a vital role in maintaining store standards, training staff, and contributing to the overall success of the store. Responsibilities Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures. Lead and motivate retail sales teams to meet or exceed sales goals through effective management and coaching. Manage inventory control, stock replenishment, and merchandising to maximize product visibility and sales opportunities. Handle customer inquiries with professionalism, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service. Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing and onboarding new employees; conduct employee orientation sessions. Oversee POS (Point of Sale) systems for accurate cash handling, pricing adjustments, and transaction processing. Supervise shift management, scheduling staff coverage to ensure smooth store operations during peak hours. Maintain accurate bookkeeping and payroll records; assist with budgeting and financial reporting. Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and operational standards. Provide ongoing training & development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills in retail sales, product knowledge, and customer service. Experience Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles within the retail industry. Strong leadership skills with a background in supervising teams and managing daily store operations. Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases. Demonstrated proficiency in inventory management, POS systems, cash handling, and bookkeeping. Experience with recruiting, interviewing, employee orientation, and training & development processes. Knowledge of retail math including pricing strategies, sales management, budgeting, and operational management. Familiarity with grocery or wireless sales environments is advantageous but not required. Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently with strong organizational skills and time management capabilities.
