Job Description

Warehouse Department Supervisor A strong-performing distribution company in the Cramerton, NC area is conducting a confidential search for an experienced Warehouse Department Supervisor to provide hands-on leadership within a fast-paced pick-and-pack distribution center. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily workflow and performance of an assigned warehouse department, ensuring employees are properly trained, work is completed accurately and efficiently, and productivity, safety, and operational standards are consistently maintained. The ideal candidate is a strong floor leader who is comfortable directing employees, addressing performance issues, adjusting priorities throughout the day, and working alongside the team when needed. This position will work closely with the Warehouse Manager and other operational leadership to maintain an organized, productive, and accountable warehouse environment. Key Responsibilities Supervise the daily activities and workflow of employees within an assigned warehouse department. Assign work, establish daily priorities, and monitor employee productivity, accuracy, and performance throughout the shift. Maintain an active and consistent presence on the warehouse floor. Train, coach, and provide ongoing direction and feedback to warehouse employees. Ensure established procedures for picking, packing, receiving, replenishment, inventory handling, or shipping are followed accurately. Monitor order volume and workflow and adjust labor assignments as operational needs change. Identify workflow delays, staffing concerns, inventory issues, and other operational problems and communicate them to warehouse management. Assist with inventory accuracy, cycle counts, location management, and investigation of inventory discrepancies. Ensure orders and materials are handled accurately and efficiently while meeting established quality and productivity expectations. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and ensure employees follow applicable safety procedures. Monitor employee attendance, work quality, productivity, and adherence to department and company expectations. Assist with onboarding and training new warehouse employees. Address routine employee questions and concerns and escalate performance, disciplinary, or operational issues to warehouse management as appropriate. Work closely with other warehouse departments to maintain efficient product and order flow. Use warehouse, inventory, and order-management systems to monitor work and maintain accurate records. Identify opportunities to improve department workflow, organization, productivity, and accuracy. Participate directly in warehouse operations when volume, staffing, or business needs require additional support. Perform additional warehouse and supervisory responsibilities as assigned by management. Qualifications 3+ years of warehouse, distribution, fulfillment, shipping/receiving, or related experience preferred. Previous experience as a Warehouse Supervisor, Department Supervisor, Team Lead, or similar warehouse leadership position strongly preferred. Experience in a pick-and-pack distribution or fulfillment environment preferred. Working knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, order fulfillment, and material flow. Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, inventory software, or similar technology preferred. Demonstrated ability to assign work, manage priorities, train employees, and hold team members accountable for performance. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to remain organized and make decisions in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Comfortable addressing employee performance and operational issues professionally and consistently. Ability to work collaboratively with warehouse management and other departments. Comfortable working on the warehouse floor and participating directly in operations when necessary. Ability to work additional hours or overtime when business needs require. Benefits & Work Environment Hourly rate: $25-28, commensurate with experience Paid time off Medical, dental, and vision benefits Full-time position Monday-Friday, 8am - 5:30pm Additional hours/overtime as operational needs require On-site position; not eligible for remote work
