Job Description

Store Manager / Center Manager New The UPS Store - Troutman, NC Full-Time | Leadership Position We are preparing to open a new The UPS Store location in Troutman, NC and are looking for a dependable, customer-focused Store Manager / Center Manager who wants the opportunity to help build and lead a new operation from the ground up. This is more than a traditional retail manager position. We are looking for someone who can ultimately take ownership of the center's day-to-day operations, lead a small team, deliver excellent customer service, and help grow the business. The owner will be actively involved during startup and will work closely with the manager, with the goal of developing a strong manager who can independently operate the center. What You'll Be Responsible For Manage the center's day-to-day operations, including opening and closing. Lead, schedule, train, coach and support store associates. Create a welcoming, professional and efficient customer experience. Oversee shipping, packaging, printing, mailbox and other store services. Learn and become proficient with The UPS Store operating systems and procedures. Maintain accuracy in cash handling, transactions and store records. Monitor supplies, inventory and equipment needs. Resolve customer concerns professionally and use good judgment when problems arise. Maintain store appearance, organization and operational standards. Help manage labor and operating costs. Identify opportunities to increase sales and improve profitability. Develop relationships with local businesses and help grow printing, mailbox, shipping and other services. Work closely with the owner on store performance, staffing and continuous improvement. Be willing to step in wherever needed—the manager leads the operation but is also part of the team. The Person We're Looking For You may be a good fit if you: Have experience as a store manager, assistant manager, shift leader, operations supervisor or similar customer-facing leader. Have successfully supervised or trained employees. Are dependable and comfortable being responsible for an entire location. Enjoy working directly with customers. Can remain calm and organized when several things need attention at once. Are comfortable learning computers, software, printers and other technology. Pay attention to details and accuracy. Take initiative instead of waiting to be told what to do. Can coach employees while still holding people accountable. Have a sales and service mindset and are comfortable recommending solutions to customers. Want an opportunity to help build a business rather than simply perform a set of assigned tasks. Experience in printing/copying, shipping, retail services, banking, hospitality or another high-service environment can be especially valuable. The UPS Store Experience Previous The UPS Store experience or Certified Operator status is a plus, but is not required . We are more interested in finding the right leader with strong judgment, reliability, customer-service skills and the ability to learn. The selected candidate will receive the training necessary to become proficient in The UPS Store systems, services and operating requirements. Schedule & Pre-Opening Opportunity This is intended to become a full-time management position when the store opens . Because this is a new location, there may be an opportunity for the selected manager to begin before opening on a reduced or flexible schedule to participate in training, store setup, employee hiring, operational preparation and opening activities. The manager should ultimately be available approximately 40 hours per week , including some Saturdays and flexibility based on business needs.
Compensation Expected range:
approximately $23-$28 per hour , depending on experience, capabilities and relevant background.

For an exceptional candidate with directly relevant experience, compensation can be discussed. What Makes This Opportunity Different You won't be walking into an operation where everything has already been decided. You'll have an opportunity to: Help build the store's team and culture from the beginning. Work directly with the owner. Help establish operating processes and customer-service standards. Develop relationships with businesses in the Troutman community. Help grow the store rather than simply maintain it. Take increasing responsibility for operating the center independently. Grow professionally as the business grows. For someone currently working as an assistant manager, print supervisor, retail operations leader or service-business manager , this can be an opportunity to take the next step and lead an entire location. To Apply Please send your résumé and a brief introduction to: upstroutman@gmail.com In your message, please tell us: What interests you about leading a new store?
