Job Description

Bilingual Department Manager VT Industries Overview Description Overall Responsibilities:
Department Manager reports to the Operations Manager and carries out all duties assigned. Coordinate all incoming, single-family orders and communication between production facilities. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and document actions taken. Must have mechanical aptitude and ability to identify, analyze and improve processes and be accountable for accurate and timely completion of orders. Position will also require 20% sales calling on local trade.
Essential Job Functions:
Promote a safe work environment This individual will be a member of Production Leadership Monitor employee practices and equipment for safety concerns Supervise and coordinate activities of the production team Monitor daily and weekly production schedules and goals Organize and assign work duties to employees Evaluate employee performance and complete timely appraisals Maintain accurate employee records Inspect the quality of the product at each workstation Practice good housekeeping in all areas 20% of the time calling on local trade Other duties as required

Qualifications:
2+ years in relevant office position, supporting a manufacturing company Knowledge of business processes: Ordering products & customer service Understanding of Lean, continuous improvement methodologies Knowledge of IFS Microsoft Office skills Bi-Lingual - Spanish/English Physical Requirements Tolerance for sitting long periods of time. Possess finger dexterity to write, type, and use a calculator. Maintain adequate vision to view small print and computer terminal. Ability to speak and hear, walk throughout facilities with occasional light lifting (25 pounds), stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching with hands and arms required. Ability to travel between multiple facilities as required to perform core job duties.
