General Position Summary The Assistant Store Manager plays a key role in the day-to-day operation of Just Portsmouth, helping ensure the store is consistently running smoothly and maintaining The Just Brand's standards for customer service, store presentation, inventory, and operations. Working closely with company leadership, the Assistant Store Manager serves as a trusted on-site leader and helps provide direction and support to Retail Associates. This is a hands-on role for someone who is dependable, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of store operations during their shifts. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Help lead day-to-day store operations and ensure an exceptional customer experience. Serve as the primary on-site point person when company leadership is not present. Help train, support, and provide direction to Retail Associates. Ensure daily opening, closing, and operational procedures are completed accurately and consistently. Maintain a clean, organized, fully stocked, and visually strong sales floor. Perform inventory counts, inventory organization, new product arrivals, restocking, and merchandising. Ensure accuracy of Shopify POS transactions, product information, and barcoding. Process online orders that need to be fulfilled from Just Portsmouth. Address customer questions and service issues professionally, escalating issues to company leadership when appropriate. Communicate regularly with company leadership regarding store operations, staffing, inventory, and any issues requiring attention. Help ensure company policies, procedures, and operating standards are consistently followed by the retail team. Identify and report building or technical issues, including POS and photo booth issues. Model The Just Brand's values and maintain high standards for customer service, professionalism, and presentation. Other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For Retail experience required; previous supervisory, key-holder, or retail leadership experience strongly preferred. Extremely dependable and punctual. Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable following established operating procedures and checklists. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Comfortable providing direction to other team members and taking ownership during assigned shifts. Proactive and observant — someone who notices what needs to be done and takes action. Comfortable learning and using retail technology; Shopify POS and Google Workspace experience are a plus. Available to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed. $22-25 per hour

Semi-Annual Performance Bonus:

Eligible for performance bonuses of up to $1,500 per six-month performance period, based on store performance and company incentive plan terms.

Annual Increases:

Eligible for annual compensation increases based on performance and business needs

Pay Schedule:

Paid bi-weekly

Overtime:

Eligible for overtime pay in accordance with state and federal labor laws (non-exempt role)

Paid Time Off Paid Vacation:

56 hours annually, increasing by 16 additional hours per year of service, up to a maximum of 80 hours annually

Paid Sick Leave:

40 hours annually
