ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER / SALES + CLIENT EXPERIENCE

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Assistant Store Manager specializing in Sales and Client Experience to join our retail team. In this pivotal role, you will support the store's daily operations, lead sales initiatives, and ensure an exceptional customer journey. Tiffany Piñero Style Co. | Cranford, NJ 25-35 Hours Per Week | $24-$27/hour, based on experience Tiffany Piñero Style Co. is seeking an experienced, polished and highly motivated Assistant Store Manager of Sales + Client Experience to join the leadership team of our new retail flagship and interior design studio in Cranford, New Jersey. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who loves the energy of the sales floor, understands elevated customer service and knows how to motivate a team. Working closely with our Operations Manager and Founder/Creative Director, the Assistant Store Manager will help lead the day-to-day retail experience, drive sales, maintain exceptional store standards and ensure our associates consistently deliver the level of service expected at TPS Co. This is not a behind-the-scenes management role. We are looking for a leader who wants to be on the floor.
THE ROLE SALES + CLIENT EXPERIENCE
The Assistant Store Manager will be one of our strongest sellers and will set the standard for how our team interacts with customers.
Responsibilities include:
Lead by example on the sales floor and actively contribute to store sales Create a warm, elevated and highly personalized customer experience Develop relationships with customers and encourage repeat business Coach associates in relationship-based selling and clienteling Help the team understand customer needs and make thoughtful product recommendations Encourage natural cross-selling and styling rather than transactional selling Maintain strong knowledge of merchandise, makers, artists and product stories Confidently introduce customers to TPS Co.'s additional services, including interior design, wallpaper, fabrics and window treatments Handle customer concerns and service recovery with professionalism and good judgment Help cultivate VIP and repeat customers
FLOOR LEADERSHIP
When the Assistant Store Manager is the manager on duty, they are responsible for confidently leading the sales floor.
This includes:
Opening and closing the store Serving as a key holder Directing associates and assigning priorities Managing breaks and floor coverage Conducting opening huddles and communicating daily sales goals Keeping the team engaged and productive during slower periods Providing real-time coaching and feedback Supporting new employee training Handling basic customer and employee issues Communicating significant concerns to the Operations Manager Ensuring the store is operating according to TPS Co. standards The ideal candidate understands how to lead without simply "managing", jumping into the work alongside the team while still maintaining accountability.

The Assistant Store Manager will help bring the TPS Co. Luxury Service Standard to life every day.

MERCHANDISING + STORE PRESENTATION

The Assistant Store Manager will:
Maintain an impeccably styled and organized sales floor Ensure merchandise is replenished throughout the day Assist with merchandising changes and new product launches Maintain visual standards established by the Founder Identify displays or areas that need attention Assist with receiving and processing merchandise when needed Ensure back stock and supplies remain organized Maintain elevated standards for packaging and gift wrapping Help prepare the store for events, launches and seasonal changes A strong visual eye and appreciation for design are important for this role.
TEAM DEVELOPMENT
Working with the Operations Manager, the Assistant Store Manager will help develop a strong retail team.
Responsibilities include:
Training new Sales Associates Coaching associates on selling and customer experience Reinforcing product knowledge Helping associates develop confidence in clienteling Recognizing strong performance Addressing smaller performance issues in the moment Providing feedback to the Operations Manager regarding employee development Helping identify associates with leadership potential
SALES PERFORMANCE
The Assistant Store Manager should understand that exceptional service and strong sales performance go hand in hand. This person will help the team work toward store goals by monitoring and coaching around areas such as: Daily and monthly sales goals Average transaction value Units per transaction Add-on sales Repeat customers Customer information capture Client follow-up Sales generated through clienteling This role will participate in TPS Co.'s team-based sales incentive program.
EVENTS + COMMUNITY
The Assistant Store Manager will play an active role in TPS Co. events, private shopping experiences, product launches and community collaborations.
Responsibilities include:
Leading the floor during events Coordinating associates Supporting setup and breakdown Creating an exceptional guest experience Driving event sales Helping capture new customer relationships for future follow-up Evening availability will occasionally be required for the schedule and for events.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate is: Warm, polished and confident An experienced and natural salesperson Comfortable leading a team Highly dependable Proactive and resourceful Excellent at reading people Calm under pressure Comfortable making decisions Detail-oriented Visually minded Motivated by goals Comfortable giving direction and feedback Collaborative rather than territorial Willing to jump in wherever needed Excited about helping build a growing independent business Previous experience in luxury retail, premium fashion, beauty, home furnishings, interior design, hospitality or another high-touch customer environment is strongly preferred. Previous key holder, sales lead, supervisor or assistant management experience is preferred. Experience with clienteling and relationship-based selling is a significant plus.
SCHEDULE
This position is expected to begin at approximately 30-35 hours per week . Candidates must have flexible availability, including weekdays, weekends and occasional evenings. Weekend availability is required. As the store grows, there is an opportunity for increased hours and responsibility.
