Finishing Manager, 2nd

Shift Job Summary:

We are a Litho-Laminated box manufacturer in Paterson, NJ. We are seeking a 2nd Shift Manager for our Finishing Department. Department with work hours being (3:30PM- 11:30PM, Monday-Friday). This position is responsible for the overall production process of the department and the supervision of the Finishing Department personnel.

Essential Job Functions:

• Ensure compliance with all Safety Rules and procedures for staff and workplace.
• Coordinate workflow, scheduling glue machines to maximize efficiency, and monitor quality control.
• Update gluing schedule calculating whether a job is on hand while assessing possible customer service failures.
• Create specs using job bags to decide best way to glue and pack product for customers.
• Meet department production and waste-control targets. Enter production entries, corrugated consumption and close jobs.
• Manage and control inventory and purchasing of department supplies.
• Maintain and train personnel to follow company procedures for department in addition to scheduling vacation and sick time coverage, including hiring and firing.
• Assist adjusters/crews with glue production problems and ensure adjuster maintain equipment and work areas organized
• Schedule internal preventative maintenance and external mechanic services. Reporting problems to maintenance department for repairs.
• Communicate department needs to management as well as other departments.

Job Qualifications:

• High school degree.
• Supervisory experience in manufacturing environment of (3-5 yrs.) in corrugated box company or equivalent industry.
• Ability to work, plan, and execute in a fast paced environment with changing priorities.
• Must know micro soft office, especially Excel.
• Ability to communicate fluently in Spanish is a must.
