Warehouse Department Lead - Shipping, Receiving & Picking Single Serve Beverage Distribution - 3.2 Paterson, NJ Job Details Full-time $20 - $22 an hour 3 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Operations management Organizational skills Warehouse experience Training & development Time management Full Job Description Single Source Beverage Distribution is seeking an experienced, hands-on Warehouse Department Lead to oversee daily shipping, receiving, and picking operations. This position will lead a team of approximately five to six employees and ensure that inbound shipments are received accurately, orders are picked correctly, and outbound shipments are prepared and dispatched on time. The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish, comfortable using computers and warehouse management systems, and experienced in picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and inventory control. Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills are essential. Key Responsibilities Assign daily work based on shipping deadlines, production needs, order priorities, and employee strengths. Lead, train, coach, and monitor a team of five to six warehouse employees. Conduct daily team meetings to communicate priorities, goals, safety concerns, and operational updates. Oversee the receipt and inspection of incoming shipments, verifying quantities and condition against purchase orders. Identify and immediately report shortages, damages, incorrect products, labeling issues, and other receiving discrepancies. Coordinate unloading, staging, storage, and system receiving of inbound materials. Supervise accurate picking for production, packing, Amazon, FBA, Walmart, WFS, and other customer orders. Verify picked items and quantities to reduce order errors and shipment delays. Ensure outbound orders are properly picked, packed, labeled, documented, staged, and ready for scheduled carrier pickups. Maintain accurate inventory movements and work with Inventory Control to investigate discrepancies. Enforce FIFO procedures and ensure warehouse locations are organized, labeled, and maintained. Use warehouse management systems, scanners, email, spreadsheets, printers, and shipping or labeling software. Monitor productivity, order accuracy, shipment completion, and employee performance. Identify workflow issues and recommend practical solutions to improve efficiency. Maintain accurate daily records and provide management with updates on completed work, open orders, discrepancies, delays, staffing concerns, and support needed. Enforce company safety procedures and promptly report unsafe conditions or equipment issues. These responsibilities combine the required oversight of picking accuracy, production and e-commerce order fulfillment, inbound receiving, outbound shipment preparation, inventory control, reporting, and team development. Qualifications Fluent in both English and Spanish. Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution, fulfillment, or manufacturing environment. Experience with shipping, receiving, picking, packing, staging, and inventory control. Previous team lead, trainer, or supervisory experience. Strong computer skills and experience using warehouse management systems or inventory software. Comfortable using handheld scanners, email, spreadsheets, shipping systems, and label printers. Ability to read purchase orders, pick lists, shipping documents, labels, item numbers, and quantities. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and time-management skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory and order accuracy. Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and adjust staffing or workload throughout the day. Willingness to work hands-on alongside the team when needed. Performance Expectations The Warehouse Department Lead will be expected to: Meet daily picking and shipping deadlines. Maintain high order, receiving, and inventory accuracy. Communicate delays and operational risks proactively. Keep receiving, picking, storage, and shipping areas organized. The role requires strong leadership, clear communication, organization, proactive problem-solving, accountability, and consistent enforcement of safety standards.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform normal warehouse activities, including bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to the company's approved weight requirement, with or without reasonable accommodation.Pay:
