Job Description

Prep Department Manager High-volume car dealership is seeking a motivated, organized, and hands-on Prep Department Manager to oversee our vehicle preparation operations. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can manage multiple priorities, and has the ability to hold a team accountable while maintaining a high standard of quality. Automotive dealership experience is a plus, but it is not required. We are willing to train the right person who has strong organizational and leadership skills. What You'll Do Manage the day-to-day operations of the vehicle prep department Coordinate the preparation of new and used vehicles for delivery and sale Assign and prioritize work to ensure vehicles are completed on schedule Monitor vehicle status and ensure deadlines are consistently met Inspect completed work to ensure vehicles meet dealership standards Coordinate with Sales, Service, Parts, Detail, and Management Maintain accurate records and tracking of vehicle preparation Monitor department productivity and performance Identify delays or issues and take action to keep vehicles moving Ensure required paperwork, inspections, recalls, and preparation procedures are completed Utilize Google Drive and Excel to track vehicles, department performance, and daily workflow Communicate effectively with management and other departments Train, coach, and hold department employees accountable to established standards Help continuously improve the department's efficiency and processes What We're Looking For Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple vehicles and priorities at the same time Strong attention to detail Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication skills Ability to lead and hold employees accountable Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills Must be comfortable using Google Drive, Google Sheets, and shared documents Dependable and willing to take ownership of responsibilities Previous automotive or dealership experience is preferred but not required Management or supervisory experience is a plus Schedule Full-time, 40-hour work week 4 weekdays and every Saturday Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary Performance-based bonuses Opportunities to increase compensation based on department performance Health insurance Paid time off 401(k) retirement plan Employee discounts on vehicles, parts, and service Ongoing training and professional development Opportunity for advancement within a growing dealership organization Stable employment with one of Long Island's most respected family-owned automotive dealerships Positive, supportive, and team-focused work environment Who We're Looking For This position is ideal for someone who enjoys running an organized operation and getting things done.
