Manager Graduate Gemologist - Jewelry Sales & Curation Full-Time | Base salary + commission (no cap) Rare opportunity for a Graduate Gemologist to take real ownership — curating our collection, advising clients, and growing with a team that values your expertise. You won't just sell what's in the case — you'll help decide what goes in it. About Us We're an established fine jewelry retailer in Beaverton known for quality pieces, expert service, and building lasting relationships with our clients. Schedule Tuesday-Saturday, 9:30 am-6pm What You'll Do You'll split your time between the sales floor, evaluating incoming pieces, and shaping our merchandise mix. Identify, grade, and evaluate diamonds, colored gemstones, and finished jewelry using GIA standards Curate and select which pieces are featured in-store, ensuring displays reflect quality, variety, and current market appeal Guide customers through the 4Cs and help them choose fine jewelry with confidence Appraise jewelry for sales and insurance purposes Prepare accurate written appraisals and grading documentation Evaluate and price jewelry pieces for purchase and resale Build lasting relationships with clients, turning first-time buyers into lifelong customers Keep inventory records, pricing, and case merchandising accurate and appealing Stay sharp on market trends, pricing shifts, and new certifications What You Bring GIA Graduate Gemologist (GG) diploma — required 5 years in retail jewelry sales, appraisal, or gemology Comfortable with grading tools (loupe, microscope, refractometer) Strong grasp of diamond and colored stone grading standards An eye for merchandising and curation — knowing what sells and how to present it A sales-minded, customer-first attitude — you love helping people, not just talking specs Neat, professional appearance and attitude Friendly and energetic; we are a high volume, high traffic store A team player mentality with an ability to work independently Very knowledgeable and well spoken, but most importantly possess a teacher-mentality when speaking about jewelry with customers and consignors Nice to Have AGS or other additional certifications Bench/repair familiarity Why Join Us Competitive salary (see below) Health insurance PTO (40 hours 1st year, 80 hours start of 3rd year, 120 hrs start of 5th year) 401K + match Real influence on what we carry — this isn't a role where you just follow a merchandising plan someone else made We're a small, close-knit team, so your work has real visibility and impact What we offer: We offer a consistent, stable work week with Sundays and Mondays off. Commission Base salary:
$35,000/year, plus uncapped commission on sales.
Experienced/high-performing gemologists:
$66,000-$86,000+ Typical first-year total compensation: $40,000-$50,000 Final compensation depends on individual sales performance, experience, and tenure. Commission plan provided at time of offer. Salary above the national industry average.
