Retail Operations Position Summary The Thrift Store Key Holder assists the Store Manager with the daily operation of the American Rescue Workers Thrift Store. This position may be responsible for opening and closing the store and overseeing daily operations in the Manager's absence. The Key Holder helps maintain a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming store while providing excellent customer service and supporting the mission of American Rescue Workers. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist with daily store operations, including sorting, pricing, tagging, stocking, merchandise rotation, rag-out, cleaning, and sales floor recovery. Open and close the store as scheduled and follow all required security and opening/closing procedures. Operate the cash register and follow established cash-handling procedures, including accurate counting and documentation of store funds. Maintain attractive, organized, properly priced, and well-stocked merchandise displays. Provide friendly, respectful, and professional customer service. Help maintain the cleanliness and safety of the sales floor, checkout area, restrooms, stockroom, and other store areas. Follow all safety, security, and loss-prevention procedures and promptly report concerns or incidents. Provide direction to employees and volunteers and oversee routine store operations when the Manager is unavailable. Report significant customer, employee, volunteer, cash, safety, or operational concerns to the Store Manager or Director of Retail Operations. Attend required meetings and training and complete other duties or special projects as assigned. Qualifications Retail, sales, or customer service experience preferred. Dependable, honest, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to provide direction to employees and volunteers when necessary. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to accurately handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system. Ability to follow established policies, procedures, and management direction. Professional appearance and respectful attitude toward customers, coworkers, volunteers, and donors. Ability to maintain confidentiality and responsibly safeguard store keys, alarm codes, cash, and other organizational assets. Physical Requirements Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly bend, reach, stoop, lift, move, and stock merchandise as required in a retail environment. Key Holder Expectations Key Holders are entrusted with additional responsibility and are expected to demonstrate a high level of integrity, dependability, accountability, and professionalism. When acting in the Manager's absence, the Key Holder is responsible for following established policies and procedures and contacting management when a situation exceeds their authority. All employees are expected to support the mission and values of American Rescue Workers and help provide a positive experience for our customers and community.

Pay:

$11.66 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 25.0 per week
