Standard work schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 11:00PM- 7:00AM with overtime/weekend work when required based on production and business needs.- Sign-on bonus is distributed in 3 installments following 30, 60, and 90 days of continuous employment.
- Coordinate daily staffing assignments and workflow priorities.
- Train new and existing employees on safe work practices and standard operating procedures.
- Provide coaching and real-time performance feedback.
- Monitor attendance, productivity, and adherence to work standards and communicate concerns to management.
- Recommend recognition, corrective action, and performance improvement measures to the Operations Manager.
- Support conflict resolution and employee engagement initiatives.
- Exercise independent judgment in prioritizing work assignments, addressing production issues, coordinating staffing resources, and escalating operational or personnel concerns to management.
- Perform accident/incident investigations focusing on root cause and corrective actions.
- Ensure daily 6S workstation activities are completed. Where actions are not in place, the lead will work the operators to establish standard workstation organization and operation.
- Track production in the plant ERP system including but not limited to inventory adjustments, bill of material maintenance, issuing material, and completing work orders.
- Ability to maintain an accurate and legible heat record and other quality records as required.
- Perform routine planned maintenance and inspections per department requirements.
- Visually inspect products to ensure quality and accuracy to meet customer expectations.
- Balance safety, quality, productivity, cost and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.
- Ability to read, understand and execute Sales Order work instructions.
- Make packing instructions for laborers.
- Track use of ladles, furnaces, and vessels.
- Order supplies for melt shop. Qualifications Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2-4 years' experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment required.
- Previous experience leading work teams, training employees, or coordinating production activities preferred.
- Knowledge of molten metal operations, safety practices, and manufacturing processes preferred. Competencies
- Ability to provide clear direction and instruction to team members.
- Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with production employees, maintenance personnel, quality personnel, and management.
- Ability to lead by example and promote accountability.
- Experience operating fork trucks, overhead cranes, backhoe, and hand tools preferred.
- Proficient in the basic math skills and use of a computer.
- Able to multi-task with shifting priorities and multiple interruptions.
- Must be willing to work shifts and overtime as needed, including 12 hour shifts.
- Performs all work in accordance with the PCC Code of Conduct and SOX guidelines.
