Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Truck Shop Manager to lead our heavy-duty vehicle maintenance and repair operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the daily functions of the truck service shop, ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality repairs for a diverse fleet of commercial trucks and equipment. Your leadership will drive team performance, uphold safety standards, and maintain exceptional customer service. Duties Supervise and coordinate all shop activities related to truck and equipment repairs, including diagnostics, mechanical systems repair, and preventive maintenance Lead a team of technicians by providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure high standards of workmanship and safety compliance Manage work orders, prioritize repairs, and ensure timely completion of service tasks for fleet vehicles including tractor-trailers, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and heavy trucks Oversee inventory management of parts, tools, and supplies necessary for vehicle maintenance and repair activities Ensure adherence to safety protocols such as air brake inspections, hydraulics handling, welding procedures, and electrical system repairs Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, inspections, and service records in compliance with industry regulations Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to communicate repair status, estimate costs, and provide exceptional customer service Skills Extensive dealership experience with heavy trucks or commercial vehicles preferred Strong mechanical knowledge across various systems including transmissions, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, diesel engines, and electrical components Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for automotive diagnostics and heavy equipment operation Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and metal assembly Skilled in using power tools, hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and specialized machinery like excavators or cranes Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures for farm machinery, industrial equipment, and vehicle systems for truck drivers Ability to perform tire service, wheel alignment, air brake inspections & repairs, suspension adjustments & repairs Familiarity with schematics interpretation for troubleshooting electrical systems and hydraulics Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining safety standards Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients and team members This role offers an engaging environment where your expertise will directly influence operational efficiency while supporting a dedicated team.
