Pookie's is a European-inspired café serving the highest-quality coffee, gelato, fine chocolates, desserts, pastries from local bakeries, and savory items in a fun and welcoming downtown atmosphere. We are fortunate to have some of the most wonderful regular customers in Kerrville! We are looking for friendly, dependable people with great attitudes and who enjoy coffee, hospitality, and creating the BEST experience for our customers.

Keyholder Job Description:
Pookie's Patisserie is looking for a Key Holder to help lead our team — someone we trust to run a shift, sometimes solo and sometimes with support. This is a hands-on role at a small, family-run shop known for its polished, high-end aesthetic, and that standard carries into everything from how drinks are made to how the space is kept. You'll be the one making sure everything gets done during your shift, directing our barista team on what needs attention next, and handling the responsibilities that come with holding keys and closing out the register, including night deposits. The right person is reliable, level-headed under pressure, and comfortable being the one in charge when no manager is on the floor.
Responsibilities:
Prepare espresso drinks and menu beverages with care, consistency and accuracy Provide a warm, friendly and lasting customer service experience Maintain a clean and organized workspace Work efficiently during busy service periods Assist with restocking and light food prep Collaborate with coworkers to maintain a positive and welcoming café environment Run a shift independently or with support, making sure everything that needs to happen, happens Direct and delegate tasks to barista staff throughout the shift Hold store keys and carry out opening/closing procedures as scheduled Handle cash management including till counts, drops, and change runs Prep drinks and handle food safely and efficiently, leading by example Oversee sales transactions using our POS system, ensuring accuracy in cash handling and sales recording Maintain food safety protocols, including food prep and handling, to uphold health standards and quality Help onboard and direct newer or younger team members on café operations, POS usage, and customer service basics Monitor inventory levels day to day and communicate supply needs as they come up Address customer questions or concerns promptly, turning interactions into a positive experience Make quick and sound decisions during a shift as well as communicate with management with all operational and staff matters Keep the store clean, organized, and presentation-ready Collaborate with coworkers and the manager to keep things running smoothly An eye for detail and pride in keeping the store to a high standard of presentation Team player — works well with both coworkers and management Regular physical work — lifting, carrying, and restocking product; this role is active, not desk-based Available weekends required, and open to morning or night shifts (we're open 7 days a week)

Food Handler Certification (Required) Texas Food Manager Certificate (Required)
Keyholder Pay:
$14-18 per hour (depending on experience) + ~$4-8/hr tips
