We are looking for an experienced CNC Machine Shop Supervisor to lead our machining operations while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day machining of components.

NIGHT SHIFT

| 4×10 SCHEDULE Monday-Thursday 10-hour shifts Night Shift Four-day workweek This position provides a consistent Monday through Thursday schedule , with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off.

Mustang Seal Solutions specializes in the precision machining of plastics, elastomers, composites, and other non-metallic materials . This is a critical part of our business and is not the same as a traditional metal machining operation . A strong understanding of how non-metallic materials behave during CNC machining—including material movement, heat generation, workholding, tooling, feeds and speeds, dimensional stability, surface finish, and post-machining dimensional changes —is critical to being successful in this position. Demonstrated knowledge and experience machining plastics and other non-metallic materials is a critical qualification for this position and will be required for consideration.

HANDS-ON MACHINING REQUIRED

This is a hands-on CNC machining position , not a management-only role. The CNC Machine Shop Supervisor will be expected to maintain an active role in machining components themselves . The successful candidate must be comfortable setting up machines, selecting tooling, editing programs, troubleshooting machining issues, making process adjustments, and personally running parts when required. We are looking for a supervisor who can lead by example on the shop floor and is willing to get on a machine and help the team get the job done. Position Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily activities within the CNC machine shop. Personally participate in machining components and CNC setups on a regular basis. Lead machinists and CNC operators while maintaining a safe, organized, and productive work environment. Take ownership of the machining department during the assigned night shift. Plan and prioritize jobs to meet customer delivery requirements and production schedules. Set up and operate CNC equipment as needed. Review drawings, specifications, work instructions, and job requirements. Develop, troubleshoot, and improve machining processes. Select appropriate tooling, workholding, feeds, speeds, and machining strategies. Review and edit CNC programs and make process adjustments when necessary. Troubleshoot machining, tooling, programming, material, and quality issues. Develop machining processes specifically suited to plastics, elastomers, composites, and other non-metallic materials. Ensure machines are properly set up and operating within required tolerances. Monitor production performance, scrap, rework, downtime, and overall efficiency. Establish and maintain standardized machining processes. Assist with quoting and determining machining times when needed. Identify opportunities to improve cycle times, tooling, fixturing, and overall shop efficiency. Train, mentor, and develop machinists and operators. Hold employees accountable for workmanship, productivity, attendance, and adherence to company procedures. Coordinate machine maintenance and communicate equipment issues to management. Maintain accurate production and quality records. Ensure all work meets company quality requirements and customer specifications. Required Qualifications 5+ years of CNC machining experience. Demonstrated experience machining plastics and/or other non-metallic materials. Strong understanding of the unique challenges associated with non-metallic machining. Previous experience supervising or leading a CNC machining team. Must be willing and able to actively machine components rather than function solely in a supervisory capacity. Must be willing and able to work a Monday-Thursday night-shift schedule consisting of four 10-hour shifts. Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, setups, tooling, and inspection. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T. Experience with CNC mills and/or CNC lathes. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to measure precision components using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other inspection equipment. Ability to communicate effectively with machinists, engineers, production personnel, and management. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications Experience with G-code programming and editing . Experience with CNC macros and advanced CNC programming. Experience with CAM software. Experience machining high-performance engineering plastics and specialty non-metallic materials. Experience with tight-tolerance machining. Experience in Oil & Gas, Aerospace, or other precision manufacturing industries. Experience with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems. Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling. Experience developing tooling, fixtures, and machining processes. What We Are Looking For The ideal candidate is a machinist first and supervisor second . We are looking for someone who has the technical knowledge to understand the machining process, the practical experience to personally produce quality components, and the leadership ability to develop and manage a machining team. Our operation is different from a conventional metal machine shop. The materials we machine can present unique challenges involving heat, flexibility, material movement, chip formation, dimensional stability, workholding, tooling selection, and achieving repeatable tolerances . The successful candidate must understand these challenges and be capable of developing practical, repeatable machining processes. You should be comfortable walking up to a machine, understanding what is happening, getting involved, making adjustments, and helping solve the problem yourself. You will also be responsible for directing the team, prioritizing production, communicating with management, and maintaining accountability throughout the night shift. Non-metallic machining experience, hands-on machining ability, and willingness to work the Monday-Thursday night shift are critical qualifications for this position.
