Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Asst. Grocery Manager to oversee the operations of our grocery store. As an Asst. Grocery Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the Grocery Manager in managing the day-to-day activities of the grocery department, ensuring excellent customer service, and maximizing sales. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of grocery store operations, and a passion for providing exceptional customer service.Duties:
- Manage and supervise grocery store employees, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
- Ensure proper stocking and rotation of merchandise to maintain freshness and quality
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders with suppliers as needed
- Implement effective merchandising strategies to optimize product placement and drive sales
- Oversee pricing and promotional activities to meet sales goals
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring a positive shopping experience
- Utilize point-of-sale (POS) systems to process transactions accurately
- Conduct employee orientation sessions to familiarize new hires with store policies and procedures
- Implement and enforce company policies regarding safety, sanitation, and security
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a grocery management role is required
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in budgeting and financial management
- Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual or multilingual skills are preferred but not required
- Knowledge of shift management techniques to ensure proper coverage at all times
- Ability to supervise employees, delegate tasks, and provide constructive feedback We offer competitive compensation based on experience.
