Job Description

Prairie Ridge Health is looking for a House Supervisor. This position is a PRN (as needed).
JOB SUMMARY
The House Supervisor has the overall responsibility for oversight during the assigned shift, coordinating as necessary with the Administrator on Call, for all hospital operations. The House Supervisor is responsible for communicating defined expectations to the staff and holding them accountable to these expectations. The House Supervisor assists the Managers, Directors, and the Vice President of Patient Care in staff development and identification of staff strengths. They assist the leaders in coaching, mentoring, and staff recognition. The House Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the department is staffed in accordance with established guidelines (Staffing Matrix), with quality, patient safety and fiduciary expectations in mind. The House Supervisor manages, organizes, and provides direct patient care, incorporating clinical decision-making and prioritization of activities by floating to the area of greatest patient need. The House Supervisor performs patient age-specific physical, psychological, and social assessments, formulates a nursing diagnosis and develops a plan of care which includes individualized treatment strategies. The House Supervisor is responsible for implementing the Emergency Preparedness Plans for the corporation. They assist the staff in acquiring medications in the absence of the Pharmacist using departmental resources and the Pyxis global find feature. They are active in and provide leadership throughout the organization by promoting positive interactions, collaboration, and teamwork throughout all areas of the hospital.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
Current Wisconsin license as a registered nurse required. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing is desirable CPR certification or obtain with 90 days of hire ACLS certification or obtain within 6 months of hire NRP certification or obtain within 6 months of hire PALS preferred Computer knowledge is preferred Prior supervisory experience preferred TNCC preferred
Shift:
Weekend Day/NOC, weekday evening/nights, and one holiday per year.
FTE:
PRN (as needed)
