OEM Sales Engineer Work Location:
39255 W 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills, MI 48331
Schedule:
Hybrid - Tuesdays and Thursdays in the office, plus every other

NTN has an immediate opening in its Sales Department for an OEM Sales Engineer at the NTN Automotive Center in Farmington Hills, Michigan. About the Role The OEM Sales Engineer will be responsible for developing new OEM business, supporting existing customer relationships, and serving as a key technical and commercial liaison between customers and NTN's internal engineering, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and sales teams. This role is ideal for an engineer or business professional with an interest in automotive OEM sales, product development, and program management who can work effectively with both technical and customer-facing teams. Key Responsibilities Identify, pursue, and secure new OEM business opportunities while developing strong relationships with potential and existing customers. Respond to customer inquiries and proactively identify customer needs, technical requirements, and opportunities for new product development. Support and oversee new program launches, coordinating communication and timing with internal and external customers. Lead APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) meetings and maintain a working knowledge of program requirements, timing, deliverables, and customer expectations. Coordinate and negotiate sample delivery, timing, and cost with customers and internal teams. Manage existing business for assigned customer accounts, ensuring products meet customer requirements, are delivered on time, and meet applicable customer performance standards. Partner with Development Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Sales, and Marketing to support customer programs and resolve issues. Communicate significant customer issues promptly to the appropriate internal teams and help drive timely resolution. Maintain accurate and timely records of customer calls, meetings, program activity, and follow-up items. Provide management with verbal updates and written reports regarding customer needs, market conditions, competitive activity, new business opportunities, and potential products or services. Travel approximately 20% to customer locations, meetings, and other business-related activities. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business required; BSME, Industrial Engineering, Applied Engineering Sciences, or a multidisciplinary engineering degree preferred. Approximately 1-3 years of experience in direct OEM automotive sales, preferably supporting major automotive manufacturers such as GM, Subaru, Mercedes-Benz, or similar OEM customers. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple programs, priorities, and deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical customers and internal stakeholders. Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to think creatively, solve problems independently, and take initiative. Understanding of how Development Engineering works within a manufacturing environment, including its relationship with Quality, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Sales, and Marketing. Preferred Qualifications Fundamental understanding of automotive powertrain or drivetrain systems and applicable automotive industry standards is preferred but not required. Knowledge of basic APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) concepts and
