This position is focused on developing new commercial opportunities through prospecting, networking, relationship building, account development, and consistent follow-up. The Commercial Roofing Business Developer will work to build long-term relationships with property owners, property managers, facility managers, general contractors, developers, commercial real estate professionals, and other decision-makers. This is a proactive business development role. The ideal candidate is comfortable creating opportunities, building a pipeline from the ground up, and maintaining relationships over long commercial sales cycles. Key Responsibilities Commercial Prospecting:
Identify and pursue new commercial roofing opportunities through outbound calls, emails, networking, direct outreach, site visits, referrals, and relationship development.
Relationship Development:
Build and maintain relationships with property owners, property managers, facility managers, developers, general contractors, commercial real estate professionals, and other key decision makers.
Pipeline Development:
Create and maintain a consistent pipeline of commercial roofing opportunities, including immediate projects and long term prospects.
Account Development:
Develop strategic relationships with businesses and organizations that can generate recurring roofing, maintenance, repair, and replacement opportunities.
Networking:
Attend industry events, community events, association meetings, and other networking opportunities to develop new business relationships.
Commercial Outreach:
Conduct consistent outbound prospecting through phone calls, email, LinkedIn, direct outreach, and in person visits.
Technology:
Use company provided AI systems, CRM tools, prospecting platforms, and sales technology to research accounts, identify decision-makers, organize follow up, and improve efficiency.
Lead Research:
Research commercial properties, ownership groups, businesses, and organizations to identify potential roofing needs and future opportunities.
Appointment Setting:
Schedule meetings, roof inspections, site visits, and consultations with commercial prospects.
Sales Process Management:
Maintain communication with prospects throughout the commercial sales cycle and help move opportunities from initial conversation to proposal and signed project.
Proposal Follow-Up:
Follow up consistently on inspections, estimates, proposals, and open opportunities.
Customer Guidance:
Assist commercial clients throughout the sales process by answering questions, explaining solutions, and helping them understand project scope and next steps.
CRM Management:
Maintain accurate notes, contacts, follow-up activity, opportunities, and account information within the company CRM.
Market Development:
Identify new industries, territories, partnerships, and commercial opportunities that align with Green Valley's growth goals.
Internal Collaboration:
Work closely with estimating, sales leadership, production, and operations teams to ensure commercial opportunities are handled efficiently and professionally.
Long-Term Relationship Management:
Continue developing relationships after projects are completed to create repeat business, referrals, maintenance opportunities, and future roof replacements. Qualifications Previous experience in business development, B2B sales, commercial roofing, construction, property management, commercial real estate, facilities services, or a related field preferred. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Comfortable prospecting and creating opportunities without relying solely on inbound leads. Confident communicating with business owners, executives, property managers, facility managers, and other decision-makers. Strong follow-up skills and ability to manage long sales cycles. Ability to build and maintain a large professional network. Strong organization and attention to detail. Comfortable using CRM systems, AI tools, prospecting software, and other sales technology. Ability to research companies, properties, and decision-makers to identify potential opportunities. Self-motivated and comfortable working independently while remaining accountable to company goals.
