POSITION SUMMARY
As an Education Sales Consultant at Harper Ellis Hair Co. you will be a front-line seller responsible for converting leads into enrolled attendees in the company's education programs. Effectively all of this person's time is spent on direct selling activity: outreach calls, follow-up, sales conversations, and pipeline management in the CRM. This role does not design sales systems, does not manage other reps, and does not set program pricing; it executes the outreach cadence, training, and process built by Sales, Revenue Operations, and the Inside Education Sales Manager. The Education Sales Consultant partners with CX, Marketing, Revenue Operations, and the Education & Events team as needed to close enrollments and route non-education needs appropriately. KEY OBJECTIVES
Direct Selling
  • Works assigned leads (inbound and marketing-generated) through the full sales cycle: initial contact, qualification, program fit, and close
  • Follows the outreach cadence and talk tracks set by the Inside Education Sales Manager
  • contact frequency, sequencing, and channel mix (call/email/text)
  • Presents and explains program details, pricing, and enrollment logistics accurately, based on current published pricing and policies
  • Handles objections and follow-up to move qualified leads to close within expected timelines
  • Processes enrollments accurately
  • correct program, cohort/date, and seat count
  • and completes any required handoff steps
  • Maintains personal pipeline hygiene and forecast accuracy in the
CRM:
timely, accurate notes, stage updates, and next steps on every lead
  • If a customer expresses interest in hair products during an education sales conversation, helps them complete that purchase or points them to the right resource

  • coordinates on any account-level service needs (e.g., reactivation, cart recovery) that come up during education sales conversations, per the handoff protocol

  • flags lead quality or timing issues to the Inside Education Sales Manager rather than directly to Marketing
  • Education/Curriculum
  • relays customer questions about program content or scheduling that fall outside published materials Reporting & Communication
  • Participates in regular 1:1s and team huddles with the Inside Education Sales Manager
  • pipeline review, coaching, blockers
  • Reports personal pipeline and forecast status weekly
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
  • Full-cycle sales execution
  • outreach, qualification, objection handling, and closing
  • Consultative selling approach; comfortable guiding stylists to the right program fit
  • Confident phone, email, and text-based sales communication
  • CRM pipeline management and forecast accuracy
  • Comfortable working in a straight-commission, no-quota-floor compensation structure
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication with prospective students and internal partners
METRICS & PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
  • Base salary: $30,000 per year
Commission:
10% straight commission on personally closed seats, with no quota floor

    • paid only on enrollments personally closed by this Consultant
    • Lead assignment: round-robin, ensuring equal lead distribution across the team
    PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
    • Prior experience in commission-based or full-cycle sales, admissions, or enrollment roles
    • Comfortable with outbound outreach and a high volume of daily sales conversations
    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
    • Occasional travel may be required
