As an inside sales representative for an electronics manufacturer, sell video surveillance and security system products—including AI-powered cameras, edge-based recorders, and cloud-enabled solutions products to businesses and individuals within assigned area. Use technical knowledge of closed-circuit television (CCTV) technology, video analytics, software partners, chipsets (e.g., Ambarella, HiSilicon), and Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS) to facilitate sales and ensure products meet customer needs. Quickly understand new technologies, industry trends, and business strategies to ensure the company stays competitive. Up to 10% domestic and international travel required
  • e.g., 2-5 day trips to trade shows, partner sites across the U.S., and company headquarters in Taiwan for customer and industry meetings and events. Including above, work hours are estimated to be spent as follow. 30%
  • Communicate with potential and existing customers primarily using channels like phone, email, electronic online messaging, and video conferencing.
Contact new or existing customers to make sales pitches and present product information. Develop and maintain relationships with customers. Respond to client inquiries, providing accurate and timely information. Coordinate sales activities and participate in sales events with internal and external teams. 25%
  • Select or assist customers in selecting products. Emphasize product features and capabilities, based on analyses of customers' needs and on technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations. Explain technical concepts in simple terms. 15%
  • Advise customers on the use of products or services and work to optimize customer experience. Arrange customer product demonstrations, meetings, and training sessions. Escalate technical issues and customer feedback to sales engineers and technical support staff for resolution. 10%
  • Prepare quotes, proposals, presentations, and contracts. Prepare and submit orders for fulfillment and monitor progress of deliverables. 5%
  • Maintain customer and sales data in customer relationship management (CRM) system. Compile, analyze and report customer and sales information to managers. Work with other staff to prepare and update technical product information and sales templates. 15%
  • Participate in team, manufacturer representative and industry meetings.
Stay informed of new industry developments and technologies.
Requirements:
Bachelor's or equivalent degree in a business or technical field with a major, minor or concentration in information technology, computer information systems, computer science, or a related technical field plus two years of experience as a technical sales representative, inside sales representative, sales manager, or related position. Qualifying experience must include at least 2 years of work experience in B2B and B2C sales of surveillance security systems in the U.S. market, including: CCTV hardware and software, VMS (Video Management Software/System) platforms, access control systems, and surveillance solutions; technical product demonstrations; explaining technical concepts in simple terms; working directly with customers to select products that meet their objectives and budget; handling basic technical support requests and escalations; maintaining customer and sales data in a CRM system; preparing data-based reports for management; preparing quotes and proposals; and working collaboratively with a cross-functional, international team.
