BioProduction Group (BPG) / Commercial Position Summary The Sales Development Specialist is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, building a qualified sales pipeline, and supporting sustainable commercial growth across targeted markets in South Korea. The role focuses on Conventional Pharma, Cell & Gene Therapy, Food & Beverage, and selected biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. Working closely with Sales, Technical Sales, Applications, Marketing, Service, and Business Units, the Sales Development Specialist engages customers early in their development journey, identifies commercial opportunities, and connects customers with the appropriate technical and commercial resources to accelerate business growth. Key Responsibilities Identify and develop new business opportunities through customer visits, virtual engagement, marketing campaigns, referrals, and market intelligence. Build and manage a qualified sales pipeline by identifying customer needs, qualifying opportunities, and maintaining accurate opportunity records in Salesforce.com. Develop relationships with key customer contacts and decision-makers within target accounts. Understand customer business objectives, development activities, manufacturing plans, and purchasing processes to identify commercial opportunities. Introduce Thermo Fisher Scientific's BioProduction portfolio, including Cell Culture, Single-Use Technologies, Purification, Pharma Analytics, and related workflow solutions. Support early customer engagement by coordinating product demonstrations, sample requests, technical discussions, and evaluations with Sales, Technical Sales, Applications, and Business Unit teams. Identify projects requiring additional technical, process development, or application support and connect customers with the appropriate internal experts. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support customer projects involving process development, scale-up, technology transfer, or manufacturing expansion when appropriate. Monitor customer activities, market trends, and competitive information, and share relevant insights to support commercial strategy and business growth. Maintain accurate customer information, pipeline activities, opportunities, and forecasts in Salesforce.com. Achieve assigned pipeline and commercial objectives while contributing to overall business growth. Work collaboratively across cross-functional teams to improve customer experience and increase opportunity conversion. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of sales, business development, or commercial experience in BioProduction, Life Sciences, Biopharmaceutical, or related industries. Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline; M.Sc. or Ph.D. is an advantage. Experience in Technical Support, Applications, Marketing, Product Management, or Business Development is preferred. Proven experience in customer development, new business generation, and sales pipeline management. Basic understanding of bioprocessing, biologics development, or biopharmaceutical manufacturing workflows. Experience coordinating technical discussions, product demonstrations, evaluations, or customer projects is preferred. Experience using CRM platforms (Salesforce.com preferred) for opportunity management and forecasting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Korean and English. Strong interpersonal, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams. Self-motivated, customer-focused, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to travel domestically as required for customer engagement.
