Job Description

About Us The Hospital Bed Store provides hospital beds and home medical equipment to families across CT, MA, Long Island, Rhode Island, and Northern NJ. We deliver, install, and service the equipment people rely on to care for a loved one at home. We're a small, cash-pay business — no insurance billing, no claim denials — which means we move fast and our customers get straight answers. About the Role This is the hub of our operation. You'll be the first voice a new customer hears, the person who gets a driver to their door, and the one making sure we have the equipment on the shelf when they need it. It's a mix of selling, coordinating, and problem-solving — a good fit for someone who likes variety and doesn't want to do the same three tasks all day. You'll work in our internal system to place orders, schedule installations, dispatch drivers, and track inventory. What You'll Do Sales & Intake Answer inbound calls from families, case managers, and referral sources Understand what the customer needs, recommend the right equipment, and close the sale Collect payment information and enter new orders accurately Dispatch & Scheduling Schedule installations and pickups, and route drivers efficiently Communicate arrival windows to customers and keep them updated on changes Solve day-of problems — reschedules, access issues, wrong addresses Inventory Track equipment in and out, and keep counts accurate Flag low stock before it becomes a problem and place restock orders Billing Follow-Up Work the declined-payment list on a set weekly schedule Call customers to update expired or rejected cards and resolve billing questions Keep accounts current and escalate anything that stalls Customer Service Handle service questions, equipment issues, and complaints with patience Follow through until the problem is actually resolved What We're Looking For Required 2+ years in a customer-facing role that included phone sales, scheduling, dispatch, or account management Comfortable asking for the sale and asking for a credit card Strong organization — you can hold five open threads and drop none of them Solid computer skills and quick to learn new software Clear, professional written and verbal communication High school diploma or equivalent Nice to Have Experience in DME/HME, home health, medical equipment, or healthcare Dispatch or logistics coordination experience Inventory management experience Bilingual (Spanish) Who Does Well Here Someone steady. Our customers are often stressed — a family member just came home from the hospital, or a bed isn't working right. You'll be calm and helpful on those calls. You'll also be the kind of person who follows up on the uncomfortable stuff, like a declined card, instead of letting it sit. Compensation & Benefits $60,000 - $70,000 per year , depending on experience Small team, direct access to ownership, real ability to shape how things run To Apply Submit your resume through Indeed. In a short note, tell us about a time you turned an unhappy customer around — we read these. The Hospital Bed Store is an equal opportunity employer.
