A global industrial equipment distributor is seeking a motivated Inside Sales and Customer Service Representative to support their operations near Glendale Heights, IL . The ideal candidate will be strongly organized and detail-oriented, and will have established work experience in inside sales, customer service and logistics operations. This is a full-time, direct hire position with a comprehensive benefits package. This position is hourly and non-exempt, with occasional overtime required to meet business demands. Customer Service and Inside Sales Representative responsibilities include : Act as a point of contact for customers and internal clients regarding order status, logistics tracking, questions and issues, etc. via phone and email Perform accurate data entry, receive and process purchase orders and return authorizations, and update logistics information and sales activity in the company system(s) Work closely with Operations and Sales departments to ensure orders are processed and demand is forecasted accurately Assist with reviewing purchase orders and credit memos Interface with other internal departments and external suppliers (both domestic and international) to ensure timely delivery of products Provide customer service and resolve issues with purchases, warranty issues, and delivery as needed Track inventory and ensure adequate stock to fulfill product requests and purchases Other duties as assigned Customer Service and Inside Sales Representative qualifications include: Associate's degree is preferred. A completed high school diploma with relevant work experience will also be considered. At least 2 - 3 years' work experience in sales support, purchasing and inventory control, inside sales administration, or customer service, preferably in a manufacturing environment Ability to do basic math calculations, including calculating percentages and discounts Experience with order entry using ERP systems (i.e., SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle) Strong computer skills and experience in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) Organized and detail-oriented Good communication and collaboration ability in a multicultural environment Ability to be self-sufficient and work independently with minimal direct supervision Strong problem-solving and time management skills Ability to sit for extended periods of time and use hands and fingers for typing. Occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. Occasionally lift and move up to 10 pounds. Ability to use close vision and adjust focus.
