Job Description

Position Summary:
In this role, you will be the face of our company, assisting customers at the counter with their lumber and building material needs. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of construction and lumber products, and a passion for delivering exceptional service.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Greet and assist customers at the counter, providing guidance on product selection, pricing, and availability.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our lumber and building materials inventory to effectively answer customer questions and make suitable recommendations.
  • Accurately process customer orders, ensuring that all specifications and quantities are correct.
  • Monitor and restock inventory as needed, keeping the store front organized and well-maintained.
  • Strive to exceed customer expectations by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive overall experience.
  • Process cash and card transactions accurately, providing customers with receipts and maintaining a balanced cash drawer.
  • Adhere to safety protocols use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Report any safety hazards or incidents immediately.
  • Help with daily cleaning to include but not limited to, sweeping, dusting, sanitizing, and organizing.
Work closely with other team members to accomplish daily tasks efficiently.

Work closely with other team members, including warehouse staff and sales representatives, to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction.

Assist in training new employees as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications Strong teamwork Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to convey technical information to customers. Ability to build positive working relationship with customers Basic knowledge of lumber and building materials: previous experience in a similar role is a plus. Ability to lift heavy objects Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions Safety conscious with a focus on following safety guidelines and procedures Attention to detail and organizational skills Basic math skills Previous forklift experience is preferred but not required (training is available)
