We design, manufacture, and sell premium stone veneer products to construction and design professionals, dealers, and homeowners nationwide. Our sales team is the front line of our business, combining product knowledge, consultative sales, and genuine customer service to help customers make confident, well-informed decisions. Summary We are looking for an experienced Building Materials Sales Representative to join our sales team. This is a primarily inside sales role focused on consultative selling, quoting, follow-up, showroom support, contractor and dealer relationship building, proactive outreach, and developing new business. This role requires someone who is strong in both sales and administration. The right candidate can manage opportunities from first inquiry through order, maintain accurate CRM records, develop new contractor and dealer accounts, and grow repeat business. This is not an order-entry position. We are looking for a proactive sales professional who can understand customer needs, recommend the right product, manage a pipeline, and move qualified opportunities forward with confidence. Responsibilities Manage the full sales cycle from customer inquiry through qualification, estimate, follow-up, and order. Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, masons, landscape professionals, dealers, architects, designers, homeowners, and other trade customers. Sell consultatively by understanding project goals, recommending appropriate stone veneer products, answering questions, and helping customers make confident purchasing decisions. Develop and maintain strong knowledge of Stoneyard products, including stone types, installation basics, packaging, coverage, applications, samples, and online sales and visualization tools. Prepare accurate quotes, estimates, sales orders, and customer records using QuickBooks and CRM tools. Accurately estimate material quantities for a variety of residential, commercial, dealer, and landscape/hardscape projects. Develop new business through proactive outreach, follow-up, referrals, past customer re-engagement, and new contractor, dealer, and trade account development. Grow repeat business by supporting existing customers, dealer relationships, and trade professionals with consistent communication and follow-through. Maintain a clean and organized sales pipeline, including accurate CRM notes, follow-up activity, quote status, next steps, and lost-opportunity details. Support in-office sales activity, including showroom consultations, product selection, sample requests, virtual meetings, and product presentations. Participate in occasional trade events, offsite meetings, dealer training sessions, or job site visits as needed. Work with architects, designers, and trade professionals when appropriate to support product selection and project specifications. Coordinate with production, shipping, and management to ensure customer needs are communicated clearly and orders are fulfilled accurately. Maintain strong sales process discipline, follow-up consistency, customer experience standards, and pipeline organization. Qualifications 5+ years of sales experience preferred. Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant industry experience required. Proven track record selling building materials, construction, masonry, landscape/hardscape, contractor supply, showroom, dealer, or home improvement products preferred. Comfortable selling to contractors, dealers, designers, homeowners, and other trade customers. Strong consultative sales skills, including qualifying needs, recommending products, and moving opportunities forward. Demonstrated ability to prospect, develop new accounts, and build repeat customer relationships preferred. CRM experience required; Zoho CRM is a plus. Strong attention to detail, follow-up habits, and administrative accuracy. Experience preparing quotes, estimates, material orders, or takeoffs preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Self-motivated and able to manage multiple opportunities independently while contributing to a team. QuickBooks experience preferred. Google Workspace, spreadsheet, and sales reporting experience preferred. Design sensibility or product selection experience is a plus. Compensation Base salary of $75,000-$90,000 per year , commensurate with experience. This position is eligible for performance-based commission after an initial training and evaluation period. Commission eligibility is based on demonstrated ability to independently manage qualified sales opportunities, follow company sales processes, and meet performance expectations.
