Business Development & In-Home Sales Advisor Home Instead - Anne Arundel and Howard County Pasadena, MD | In-Office + Field Base Salary + Uncapped Bonus Build Relationships. Create Opportunities. Close Business That Matters. This is a proactive business development and sales role for someone who enjoys getting out into the community, meeting new people, opening doors, and building relationships that generate business. At Home Instead, your primary focus will be developing and growing relationships with referral partners throughout the community—including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, senior living communities, physician offices, and other healthcare professionals. When needed, you will also work directly with families, conducting care consultations and helping them understand how Home Instead can support their loved one. We are looking for someone who doesn't wait for opportunities to come to them. You should be comfortable prospecting, cold calling, networking, walking into new referral sources, following up consistently, and turning relationships into referrals. What You'll DoBusiness Development - Primary Focus Develop and grow relationships with hospitals, rehab centers, senior living communities, physician offices, and other referral partners Prospect and identify new referral opportunities throughout your territory Make outbound calls and conduct in-person outreach to potential referral partners Schedule and conduct meetings with healthcare and community professionals Maintain consistent follow-up with existing and prospective referral sources Attend networking events, community events, and professional meetings Educate referral partners about Home Instead's services and programs Build a strong, consistent pipeline of referral opportunities Track activity, relationships, referrals, and results Take ownership of growing your territory and achieving business development goals Client Care & In-Home Sales - Secondary Focus Meet with prospective clients and families in their homes, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, or other settings Conduct consultative conversations to understand the family's needs Clearly communicate Home Instead's services and value Build trust while confidently asking for the business Convert qualified opportunities into new clients Follow up quickly and consistently with prospective clients and families Work closely with the operations team to ensure a smooth transition from consultation to care What We're Looking For We are looking for someone with a business development mindset who enjoys creating opportunities—not simply responding to them.
The right person will be:
Comfortable with B2B sales, prospecting, cold calling, and face-to-face outreach Naturally outgoing and confident approaching new people and organizations Relationship-driven while still focused on measurable results Persistent and comfortable hearing "no" without losing momentum A self-starter who doesn't need to be told where the next opportunity is Confident asking for referrals and asking for the business Able to build professional relationships with healthcare and senior-care professionals Comfortable transitioning from B2B relationship development to compassionate conversations with families Organized, responsive, and disciplined with follow-up Motivated by goals, growth, and results Healthcare, senior care, home care, B2B sales, community outreach, or referral development experience is a plus.
